Well... I watched the game and there was no way to lose that one, trust me. On the other hand, I don't care about the culture change and all that jazz, but both Atlanta and Boston games were easily losable and should have been lost at all costs. 21 wins would have been just right.

So getting 7th over 8th would have made you that much happier and this season wouldn't be such a waste of time? Perspective people......it sucks sure, but not the end of the world. We just better not drop in the lottery next month because if we do it hurts our chances at getting anything significant for it.

No, jeff. That statement has summed up my frustration with the way the team ended the season, which has been basically building up through the month of April. Losing the coin toss was really the last straw, the "perfect" drop of water to reflect the rotten luck we've come to expect as fans of this team.

I am really happy for Casey - he can now boast of winning one more than last year in 16 less tries. I am equally happy for Anderson and Uzoh, who have probably increased their chances of being on some team's roster next season. I am extremely unhappy for the team that historically hasn't been able to attract big-time players either as FAs or via trades and so has draft as the only way to truly upgrade its talent - and managed to fuck it up this season for reasons unknown. My team. Toronto team. The fucking Raptors.

if it's the 8th, i'm fine with it. i really like rivers and the 8th justifies us going for him without regret. lets just hope he's available.

shooting guard. rivers' is an inch taller than beal, so the whole undersized shooting guard thing is irrelevant.

i was hoping for either beal or rivers. i don't think one is clear better than the other. all i know is, having someone like rivers who can attack the basket with the ease he does it with something we've missed for a very long time.

In a very limited sample of watching them play (1 game each, I am ashamed to admit), they both appear capable of getting to the basket all right, but only one of them has the body to finish there at the NBA level, and that's Beal. He also looks like a better outside shooter to me.

its depresing yeah...however its a deep draft and thats the consolation...3-10 pick looks like the same talent level...we might not get waht we want but even at 7th spot we are not sure if barnes or beal are still available...

if we are picking fifth then one of them might still be available but that's water under the bridge now...lets move on

besides lower draft pick will not always pan out right...

at 8 or 9th pick i think we will have jared sullinger...which stastically (17.5pts, 9.7rebs) much better than DD (13.9pts, 5.7rebs) the time we pick him

Remember, this wasn't the draft lottery, while we'll probably remain in the 8th spot, we still do have a chance (albeit small) to move up (or even down).

Who knows, maybe we do end up trading the pick, or trading up, down, or out of the draft altogether, but maybe this works out for the Raps like it did the Celtics a few years ago, when they were expecting a high draft pick, didn't get it, then made a whole bunch of trades for their "big 3". While we don't necessarily have the assets to do something exactly like that, maybe this ends up being one of those blessing in disguise things and it benefits us more...
