crazy comment mate, i have to say. english made CLEAR improvements in at least 3 players! so here's my why question. Why the hell would you not want that!?

wow, seems a few people agree with that statement!? I kind of agree with clearing house, new philosophy. But what philosophy disagrees with a coach who improves young players free-throws and jumper!?

nice guys finish last? don't agree. And he's not even a sportsman, he's a coach! how does a coach finish last!?

Not sure if already posted but PJ is out.

PJ Carlesimo - in spite of the one year he had remaining on his contract - will not be back with the Raptors.

Saw that coming, he wasn't present at any of the workouts.

He was earning too much money for an assistant anyways. He was supposed to mastermind last season's defence. Did quite a good job, no?

I'm not saying he's a bad coach, but the players weren't listening to that staff..it wasn't just Jay. As Bryan stated, he needed a new voice in the locker room and that goes for the lead assistants too. Personally I wish Casey replaced all the old guard...start from scratch, clean house as was mentioned. Good coaches aren't effective if they're not listened to.

It was Eric Hughes who worked with Sonny and DeMar at all hours and coached last year's summer league team. English worked with Amir and and some of the other bigs.

We didn't exactly have an experienced team or the right head coach.

English did a damn fine job working on offense with our players, as we are always a high scoring team, even with our lack of experience.

As for PJ, I just liked his attitude and how he didn't sugarcoat anything.

It's official.

Quote:
The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday the club has hired Johnny Davis, Eric Hughes, Micah Nori, Scott Roth and Tom Sterner as assistant coaches on new head coach Dwane Casey’s staff. Hughes, Nori and Roth were retained by Casey from Jay Triano’s coaching staff.

“I am excited to announce the hiring of what I believe is a strong, well-balanced and experienced coaching staff,” said Casey. “We have a good mixture of former players, head coaching experience and on-court teachers who have a wealth of technical knowledge.

“Since we have such a young team I thought it was necessary to hire a group of coaches who can effectively mentor, communicate, motivate and teach on-and-off the floor.” Davis completed his 35th season in the NBA in 2010-11. He has been a player, assistant coach, front office executive and two-time head coach.

From what I remember, it was Eric Hughes who stayed at night, or went extra early to practice to work with the younger players.
