I'm guessing Gray played because Casey wanted some size against Jefferson.

I would have taken my chances with Ed or Jonas though in that situation TBH.

Looked like a case of over "overcoaching" to me.

I'm surprised Jonas didn't get the call. Having said that, I'm not sure Gray is what lost us that game. Jefferson is one of the best post scorers in the league, Gray nor Ed are going to be shutting him down.

Probably not... but their activity and athleticism (and abilty to finish in traffic) might have helped. To be clear, I don't think that Gray lost us the game either... I just would've liked to have seen Casey go with the guys who were playing well is all.

its unfortunate that he had to play Gray.. but thats really what you're left with when your bigs are undersized and a rookie who gets called for breathing too hard on a player.

but demar playing 60 mins is ridiculous. especially because we have a game today. smh

Would LKZ and ED (or Amir) work better than an abyss and Bargs (in the starting lineup)?

Yes,that's the next solution in my opinion. I've suggested this in the "how to fix the Raptors thread".

demar playing 60 minutes? fuck it. he just got contracted and he's not slacking one bit, i would see demar play 48 minutes a game just because we have no one else at the 2.

I can appreciate your objectivity. I'd agree his size makes more of a difference than many seem to recognize.

I haven't seen you post it but it's a good idea with some sound logic behind it. Also, the team wouldn't drop off when going with Jose and Bargs off the bench.

The only thing that makes a difference is

1. His inability to finish around the net

2. His inability to patrol the paint get above the rim and contest shots

He was horrible.

no, he was good.

the answer to number 2 is that he bodies up so well he doesn't need to be "above the rim." He makes guys takes their shot at least 2 more feet away than they want to and with a hand in their face.

Arguing about rotations doesn't matter too much when all your players are the wrong choice. #FireBC

Aaron Gray should never be in the game for any NBA team during any 4th quarter or winning time. Valanciunus should be playing A LOT more than he is right now. Caseys approach to rookies, like many other coaches, shouldnt apply in this case since hes clearly our best C and our best chance of being a good team if he does get the majority of the minutes and improve with the experience. You cant say the same with Amir and Gray. We could be a lot better if Valanciuius grows up quickly. Give him minutes.

Aaron Gray is Eddy Curry with 1/2 the offensive talent.

I actually think you're giving Eddy Curry too much credit with that statement

Found a proper thread to post my thought

Game against phoenix we had as good rotation as I would like. Obviously its a 10-man rotation, we need to utilize the depth and keep the pace up.
Lowry and Bargnani despite being our "main guys" saw limited minutes. Injury and low production being reasons. Bench was played longer because it was effective. And Jose+Amir should always be subbed in/out as a pair
