Default CNNSI: "Triano probably stands the best chance to keep the job."

Interesting article by Sports Illustrated where they discuss of the 6 teams that have fired their coaches so far this season, how will they benefit from the changes and what can they expect from making such a bold move? Interesting what they said about Triano and the Raptors.

Mannix: I asked a few NBA front-office officials this same question and they all had the same answer: You have to look at it in a case-by-case basis. So, let's do that

Toronto: Toronto: Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo told me that he loved Jay Triano's offensive philosophies. Colangelo will use the last five months of the season to see if Triano has the makeup to be an NBA coach. Of all the interim coaches, Triano probably stands the best chance to keep the job.

I wouldnt mind jay as our head coach of the future. Let's see if the Raptors can make some roster improvements and see how the team does.
Triano is a good coach.
Mitchell is a good coach.
the Raptors are just dont got the heart.

When will the Raps ever get a coach with a track record? Why not get a guy players will be excited to play for, instead of another "who's that" guy?

any coach with a real track record won't touch any team associated with the clowns that run MLSE and the Raptors

BC brings us the respect, stability and credibility we need, plus he practically won the COY by himself, we could have any coach and still own the world!

Well BC is notorious for firing Head Coaches in Pheonix. Personally I don't get the whole "big name" coach thing anyways.

You have Lawurence Frank in NJ. The guy was basically running tape for the team and I find him to be a fabulous coach.

Personally I think Triano is a pretty good coach. He is just letting the team figure it out on their own. I like that hands off yet hands on type approach. You have to instill the confidence in your team as a whole first before you tell them what they should and should not do.

The team on the floor ALWAYS recognizes the problems of the team first before the coach does and you should always let the team know that you know they know more than you.

The in turn gives you the respect as a coach.

Right now I don't think coaching is the main concern, but more that our players gotta start stepping it up and quit underachieving. There's no reason why the roster we have should be this bad.

Well parker shooting .333FG% in two point land is a horrible stat. The team rely's on that pic and pop and it hasn't been working this year

I think Parker should be tying up those shoelaces a little tighter because this team needs him to be that "silent" hero as he was the last couple of years.

I just hope that parker that I remember who was always that slightly above average player with smarts and a great percentage shot would come back.

This team really needs that

yea guys arent trying on every play.
even when they do start to play harder theyre still not a top 5 team in the east.
... and thats where colangelo thinks we should be.
he's still got a couple more pieces to add.
.. one or two to subtract.

Yea I agree. Jay is doing a good job preaching defence. It's just that the players show no heart or desire to win. When you play you leave it all on the court. You have to show your mental toughness and win the game. So far the Raps haven't shown that

BC is an overrated TV star. Firing Smitch and giving Triano the job is so far the best move he has made. JO was a big mistake and destroyed the team harmony. He could do much better than signing a bad knee for 21 million USD.
