On the bright side, there are 12 months until next season's trade deadline, at which point Colangelo and the Raptors will have to decide Bosh's fate if they hope to remain a competitive entity in the years to come.

no doubt. he put plans in place and now we're into the backup to those plans. he's got time to prove himself yet, but he'd better do something in the next 6-12 months or he's up shit's creek.

Even with this horrible record, I doubt BC is on the hot seat. MLSE cares about money, and that is what BC has brought them.

probably nobody knows if he's on a hot seat or not ...

If I was his boss, I would definitely not considering firing him. My opinion of Colangelo is that he's a very qualified general manager. As long as I believe that, whether he did a good or not so good job is less relevant, since it would be very stupid to fire somebody just because they had a bad year. It's like having a sales guy who for the past 10 years did a great job, but now that he has a bad year you fire him ... not a smart decision.

THANK YOU, I DONT GET WHY EVERYONE ELSE IS LOSING THEIR SACK OVER A BAD SEASON.

The only bad decision BC has made in my books was firing Sam Mitchell, which most of you guys will disagree with, for god only knows what reason.

This article says nothing about Colangelo and his job being in jeoperdy in Toronto. It's more about the Bosh situation. And BC being able to surround him with the right players to try and keep him here. Not once did that article mention him leaving or possibly being let go.He isn't going anywhere for at least 2 years which is when his contract expires.

I agree for the most part. The only other mistake he's made imo was overpaying for Krapono.Beyond those two decisions (JK/Sam) i've been happy with his decisions overall.

J.O. in the discard pile? Gee, I wonder how the Miami Heat like being called a discard pile? Some journalists need to take vocabulary 101.

Given the fact The Raptors have a history of being unstable. I'd first consider maybe giving BC an extention at the end of his 4th year rather than firing him.

This team has been so unstable and crappy (even if they were good it always ended up with the team being in cap hell) its almost like you have to create that stable notion just to attract any prime time GMs.

Just my take

Even if you fire BC, who the hell will you replace him with? And what happens when the new GM can't deliver? You fire him too?

If he can improve the team by trading Bosh I say do it.
Are we going to tie BC's hands by telling him not to trade the most valuable asset.
Why does he have to persuade Bosh to stay? he's been the third best player on the court for the past month.

The bottom line is he has to persuade fans to buy tickets first, Bosh contract extension second

Right, we are #9 in the ticket sales list and the owners make tons of money. I don't think they care about building a contender. If Toronto makes the playoffs and play a few games they think the GM is an over-achiever.

Why is MLSE strengthening TFC then?

The only team that can survive being bad for a long time are the Leafs.
As a business MLSE knows the have to put a good product together.

I find it very interesting that the writer both criticized BC's move in a way on the Marion/Oneal situation, but late ron, totally called out ONeal fr he disgraceful showing against Orlando, basically raising the issue of his possible non-value without actually saying it.

Pretty safe article, fence sittish

Fresh on the radio, not shure if its just the Maple leafs team, or the Maple leafs Entertainment franchise, (i think its just the leafs)

But they are the most profitable sports franchise yet again. Value 400 million USD. BC aint going anywhere cvonsidering we are 14th in the east, yet 9th in ticket sales out of 30
