I say we finish 2nd-4th only behind Boston, Detroit(maybe with inexperienced rookie coach), Magic.
Here, here. You know what? I think people around here are totally overrating the Pistons. Yes, they have chemistry and yes they have a strong youthful bench but damn, that starting five is getting older and slower by the day. I think this is the year you see them really take a step back in the playoff order. Theres a really good reason why rumors swirled all off-season about them trying to move Sheed and Billups. Its because they're old and they're going to fall off sooner than later.

they're not THAT old - they're younger than the spurs were this year. Those players have at least 2-3 years in them. And if Dumars breaks the core, he will get equal quality players in return, he's not going into rebuilding mode or anything ...

The Pistons don't have the best PF of all-time to lean on.

Pistons
Chauncey Billups age: 32
Rip Hamilton age: 30
Tayshaun Prince age: 28
Antonio McDyess age: 34
Rasheed Wallace age: 34

Raptors...
Chris Bosh age: 24
Jermaine O'Neal age: 29

Who's going to get tired first? Who's going to be stronger and faster?

Perhaps the Pistons will get tired first.

All that would do is level the playing field somewhat. You see, they may be older, but they're still better at the game of basketball.

And you conveniently don't inclue their young guys on that list.

Maxiell, Johnson, and Stuckey...all under 25 and all improving. You'll see all three playing pretty major roles this season...and that's a good thing for Detroit.

Technically Iggy is not signed yet in Philly. Not that I am suggesting he won't but I know I forget that sometimes

Oh, the King (Detriot in this case) isnt dead quite yet, far from it. People overlooking them are in for a reality check. Its still going to be Boston then Detriot imo.

Didn't have to, gave props to them earlier and we've been talking about the starting five.

I have my doubts about Boston. They are one year older, and Ray Allen had a miserable playoff campaign, which indicates he's starting to really show his age. They're no longer as motivated and they're main staple was defense Without that motivation, they will probably lose a bit on that side. On the plus side, they managed to keep thibodeau, so they will still be an elite team. I just don't seem them getting more than 55 wins next season, which means we might have a shot at them if everything falls into place.
