Let's beat this dead horse one more time, shall we?

Swirsky needed to go. The team already has a mascot.

Devlin is a real life version of Ron Burgundy...which is awesome.

I can just see Devlin...

Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention. I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story about the Raptors. I need all of you, to stop what you're doing and listen.

Cannonball!

i have the exact opposite opinion. i think Swirsky was just plain embarrassing and the little weazel actually was arrogant. Here is this little 140 pound otter that would refuse to poke fun at himself and go silent when leo would do so. Devlin on the other hand will make fun of his own weight, force football pads on jack without consent, and has more urban nick names. i really don't know what more you could ask for

however, i do miss chuck's and leo's on air silent moments which would take place after their ego's would collide and disagree on a matter.

I place Leo in the Banks category. You're probably going to have to give up one of the top three to get someone to take him on.

I'm sorry, but "more urban nicknames"? Really?

Both Devlin and Swirsky are annoying as hell. Muting the game is actually the best option and talking to friends while it's on is always the best way to go.

i never really cared much for the play-by-play but it's a vital part for people watching the game at home. for me Chuck provided play-by-plays with vitality where as Matt is bland. even when our team was losing on a bad night Chuck still made it enthusiastic. Matt sounded as if he gave up just as fans did lol!

I'm not in favour of the trade. Swisky provided far too much hype and not enough substance and when you have the king of obvious Leo Rautins next to him, you've got a problem. I might be being a bit harsh on Swirsky, but his persona somehow seemed to take precedence over the actual game being played. Thanks for the support though Swirsk, but stay in Chicago. BTW, Devlin has something positive going on for the US networks to hire him for the playoff broadcasts. He's a bit more calm than Chuck but that's what a commentator is supposed to be like, or at least closer to Devil than Chuck. At least if Chuck had the same metaphors and sheer passion that Ray Hudson (GolTV soccer commentator) then i'd love him, but he certainly does not.

No, no.

My point is, who cares if they're urban nicknames or not.

all forced nicknames - urban or suburban - sound lame.

i consider them ALL stupid nicknames. I hate how these announcers feel the need to force themselves onto us listeners by coming up with countless catchphrases and unnecessary nicknames. It's almost at the point where everyone would have a nickname just because it sounds "cooler" than saying their regular name.

I also think that your labeling Devlin as more 'urban' therefore more 'down' or 'in the know' to be kinda out-there. I don't make that connection - but that's just me.
