"Chris don't talk."

...According to Reggie. And a little glimpse into last year's locker room vs. this year.

Quote:

Chris Bosh, you see, is not the most social person in the world.

"No disrespect to Chris, but Chris don't talk. He don't talk. He's like ... he don't talk. He don't. He don't talk. I just said he don't talk. That's all I'm saying. He don't talk," Evans, the Toronto Raptors' gruff, fountain-of-truth power forward said Tuesday. "Would he talk on the court? Yeah, he talked on the court. But you're speaking of the locker room. He don't talk.

"I'm not knocking C.B. at all, period. I swear to God on that. It's just if you're going to talk about personality, C.B. don't talk. I'm not saying that's good. I'm not saying that's bad. I'm saying that's just him. He don't talk."
Bosh finally back in town

Wow. Quite a glimpse. I'm all giddy now. It's like being right there in the locker room not talking to Bosh. And having him not talk to me. Thank you for making it seem so real.

Reggie talk!

Well- he doesn't really talk. It's kind of a hybrid form of vocalizations acquired through having a mouth full of skittles throughout his developing years.

It does seem real now, beause it is not a rumor about the locker room. Someone is finally willing to speak about an aspect of it publicly. When Jay Triano said point blank that Chris Bosh was not a leader, I actually wanted to know what he meant, but I didn't hear anyone asking. I'm not a fan of his, I'm a Raptor fan. Whatever spews out or leaks out should be laid bare.

If the captian of this team was sitting around in the locker room just kinda minding his own business, I want to know!

Yeah, but Reggie can you tell us if Chris is talkative? Lol

INSIDER 02-16-2011 08:34 AM

Nice.
I never thought cb was a good captain, and this supports my opinion.

Claudius 02-16-2011 08:54 AM

meh, I think Bosh even admitted to not being a vocal leader in the locker room. It's also a reason why he's been doing so well in Miami. Just focus on playing and let Wade and James do their thing.

Chris dont talk.....

We talkin about practice...

m5racer 02-16-2011 09:41 AM

Chris is a follower, clearly.....this is why.

Technically LeBron followed him and Wade in Miami.

I think this from 2008 speaks more to Bosh's leadership ability than Reggie

This was then head coach Sam Mitchell back in January of 2008 commenting on Bosh:

“He’s the face of our franchise and he is our best player,” Mitchell said. “But just being the best player is not enough. You pay a guy because of how he plays, but what they forget to tell you is in that fine print are all those other things that you are responsible for. Not only are you responsible for your play but to a certain degree you are responsible for how your teammates play.”

Based on the sequence of events, who followed who?

If he doesn't talk in the locker room then hes not a leader.

So talking equates leadership?

To be a leader of a team its definitely a trait you need.

No, but if Reggie makes the comment that 'he didn't even know he was in the room'. that is pretty telling that Bosh lacked leadership qualities. If we are to believe Reggie... Doesn't sound too off base.

I'd say it's clear, though many will argue, that Bosh wasn't a leader here, but rather played with an agenda to get his max deal opportunity. He just happened to strike up another opportunity by piggybacking on LBJ and Wade shortly after the last allstar weekend.

That's because Reggie was in the locker room so often last year right?

To me it sounds like Reggie knows who is audience is and is, excuse the expression, 'feeding the media'. It's a BS statement and Reggie is smart enough to know the response it would illicit.

Really? An agenda? He was guaranteed max money. He could've sat all of last year out and still gotten it. So what is this agenda? I love when people use this word to back up some sort of fantastical idea in their own mind.
