Just that, because it is true. If it is not true, he could have said what Ed Davis said.

Ed was candid when he said Bargnani is the franchise player right now, but it will probably be Demar in a few years. I found that interesting.

So he's making less money than Bosh... therefore he's allowed to give less of an effort?

Shoot, if that's the case then people should be slobbering over guys like Weems, Dorsey and Wright. lol.

I don't give a damn if you make $20M/yr or $300K/yr.... if you don't try you deserve hate. Plain & simple.

Reggie is saying Bosh was pretty much a mute and not a leader. He says he means nothing by it... but that is exactly what he means by it.

Like hell I am.

I've said this before and I will say it AGAIN for the THOUSANDTH time....

If you don't make an honest effort EVERY game then you deserve hate.

THAT's why people hate Vince.

THAT's why people hate Hedo.

THAT's why people hava a problem with Bargs now.

If he IS trying and he's still failing... after 5 years in the league... then he's an idiot plain & simple.... because he clearly can't grasp the concepts that our coaches have been trying to teach him.

It's not same thing at all.

Gabe, he's not a fraction of the leader Michael Scott is.

you sure as hell are. you've made up your opinion and there is no evidence that could possibly be given to change it. that's your complaint about the Bosh haters in a nutshell, or you wouldn't bother trying to show heaps and heaps of evidence to prove everyone wrong. it's not really about what you believe, but how completely conviced you are that there is no possibility of it being any other way. you hate Bargs with the same vehemence as others hate bosh, and they are wrong for it and you are right.

I'll lay down a challenge to you right now then 'trane.... put together a convincing argument as to WHY Bargs deserves my respect.

Just don't tell me that "we should cut him some slack because he's not a franchise player"... or because he's getting paid X amount of dollars.

Think back over the last 20 games or so that the Raps have played and tell me ONE thing that Bargs contributes to this team other than shooting the long ball. Tell me what he does to help us win games.

Anyone can jump in here.... doesn't even have to be you.

are respect and hate the only two options all of a sudden?

all i've ever said about bargs, and i'll say it again right here, is that he is a one dimensional guy who is paid like a one dimensional guy ($8.5 mil this year). he can take over games offensively and his contract, in our current situation, is not a burden. he is worth keeping for these reasons and because his potential is tantalizing if he can ever reach it. he doesn't complain, he's not in it for individual awards, he doesn't spout off to the media, and he appears to be reasonably humble and happy to play in toronto. i don't love him or hate him, but i like what he could be and i see no reason to ship him away. i also don't think he could attract much of a return the way jose or barbosa could, relative to the burden that their salary can be and the level at which they could contribute when our team actually has something decent to put on the floor - ie likely after next season.

also, Bargs does way more offensively than shoot the long ball. i sholdn't need to go into detail here as it is obvioius. he is streaky and goes through massive slumps - these are not excuses, just realities - but he is tantalizing with his abilities in the mid range, from the high post, on pick and rolls andwith his ability as a big man to put the ball on the floor and create space.

but none of this is reaosn for adulation and none of this is reason for hate. i just think he has a future on this team and that the risk in keeping him when we are bad anyways is very low. the potential reward, when we assemble a supporting cast, is very large. his being on the team is not a burden.

i don't disagree that he could play harder at times, but i do disagree that he doesn't try. i think that's just an opinion that has no basis in fact. not only that but it is likely unprovable.

At what point do you throw your hands up though? This isn't his 2nd year anymore 'trane.... how long did the Wizards give Kwame before they gave up on him? How long did the Pistons give Darko? Granted Bargs has proved that he can score but he's taking 18 shots/gm.... do you really think that someone else on this team couldn't avg close to that if they were given as many shots? Because I sure do. And that's not even getting into his defensive deficiencies which will still be glaring regardless.

I'm sorry... I just can't see the upside anymore.
