Sounds like a fantastical idea.

Really? An agenda? He was guaranteed max money. He could've sat all of last year out and still gotten it. So what is this agenda? I love when people use this word to back up some sort of fantastical idea in their own mind.
Maybe he would have.... maybe he felt like if he had an offyear in stats he wouldn't be as coveted. fantastical.

You're equating that a 'franchise player' (btw, who gives that title to players?) need to be vocal leaders.

Really how vocal is Kobe? He seems to blame players more than anything on and off the court. LeBron inspires confidence because of how good he is, but really, I don't see him as this leader type. Durant seems to be the quietest player in the league.

Really, in terms of 'loud' play on and off the court I see Wade, Nash, Pierce and KG in their own class.

maybe it's not farfetched, but it's a major assumption.

No, I'm not crazy and a lot of times people go "Oh that's crazy!" then they go "It's genious!". That's what happened to the person who invented fire, they burned that witch and guess what, then they got warm and they ate good stuff. Now where are we headed to. Let's not make this weird 'cause I'm not good on dates.

I'll say this right now. Kobe is not a leader. Phil is the leader of that room.

Also, I've been part of a few teams where the best leaders weren't the loudest guys.

The best leaders was the guy we trusted and didn't want to disappoint. It wasn't this inspiration speech guy. It was a whole lot of other factors than just one thing.

I'll base my assumption on something though. Reggie knows he's the fan favourite, he knows how to can fans on his side. Kudos to him. He's smart.

I hate that franchise player tag too, cause there aren't many deserving of it.

But Durant has become increasingly more vocal (cue the Bosh incident), Kobe has been well documented for how often he speaks up about the play of his teammates (wheter privately or through the media, positively or negatively) and LeBron definitely exhibited strong vocal qualities in Cleveland.

There may be a special tier, but I don't think it's just those four. We can disagree though and I'm cool with that if you are....

wow...kobe not a leader?? that is a very very bold statement
and we're not saying leaders have to be the LOUDEST guy but you can't be the quitest. and that was the point because this thread is about how Bosh just "doesn't talk"

In my opinion, leaders are those who step up during big games and actually lead your team to victory. It's nice to have a guy that's vocal but that's not necessarily needed. I know this is basketball and all but Sundin was never a vocal leader but was a leader on the ice, he stepped up and carried the team when they were down. Kobe does the same, but he is also vocal as well.

My point is that Kobe isn't the most vocal guy in the world when it comes to 'leadership'.

He complains and whines more often than not but he's not a rally the troops kinda guy. Hell, he was complaining in the media about teammates about 5 weeks ago. Real leadership there.

I think guys just tend to do what he says so they don't have to listen to him complain about things.

Like I said, Phil, is the leader of that team. You can see it. You can hear it.

Preach on C, lol.... preach on.

Nice to see some sense injected into another "Bosh witch-hunt" thread.

How many times did we hear other players say they knew they had better make the right decision or the right play, because otherwise they would have to answer to Bosh? I know I heard it quite often. He could have been a better leader, but he wasn't entirely absent as a leader. He did in fact make the players around him better. I'm not sure what was expected. I mean if we're saying from these few comments, that this guy really let fans down somehow, then that's pretty whack. Like him or hate him, but do we need to play fucking Dr. Phil?

Bosh is a horrible person that does not talk, but is constantly trying to draw attention to himself. He truly needs Dr. Phil.

I can't agree with this... I don't think Bosh is horrible, but he does lack good judgement frequently

I've said this before and I'll say it again... when Bargs is a 5-time all-star and is playing like he gives a shit more than 1 out of every 6 games THEN the hate for him will stop.

Until then... you're just out of luck. Sorry.
