Stupid article. Narrow-minded.

He's a franchise player just because the stats say so? I'll go back to the age-old Zach Randolph example - dude averaged 20/10 multiple times and teams won't touch him with a ten foot pole.

Whether you believe Bosh is a franchise / max player is one thing, making the decision solely based on the numbers he puts up is something else.

Worth it or not, he's gonna get it. With us or someone else, so really does it really matter what we think?

There is only 3 or 4 franchise players in the NBA today. Two of them will be available in the 2010 free agency. However, please don't compare Bosh with Zach Randolph. You want to know the true worth of Bosh. With the free agents available this summer like Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Amare, Dirk, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Yao Ming, Michael Redd, Bosh is a top 3 free agent, always mentioned after Lebron & Wade. There will alot of teams offering Bosh the max contract this summer. Based on market value, Bosh is a max player.

i remember when Zach Randolph was considered on the premier power forwards in the game and a young guy who most anyone would want on their team.

No there are quite a few teams that can offer him the Max including Miami, NY. The only thing is Toronto can offer him 10% on top of that because he's their player.

I believe there are about half a dozen teams that have that money to spend.

Bosh is closer to KG than ZBo right now. But it's all going to come down to results.

many teams can offer him what Toronto can offer in S&T scenario, right?
If you make a list of players who received max contracts in recent years, you'll see Bosh totally belongs there.

I didn't compare the two, Zach Randolph is just a prime example of stats telling only a very small part of the story. I have faith that Bosh will put up 20/10 for the majority of his career, but will the results come? The jury is still out.

Being a max player and being a franchise player are two different things. Yes you're right, Bosh will be a max player. Not necessarily because he's worth max money but because the market will valuate him as such.

That'll depend more on the teammates that Bosh plays with rather than how he performs as an individual.

I agree, but when all is said and done his reputation will hinge on how well the teams he "carried" did.
