That's what everyone is assuming..... but he could cream until he's blue in the face and I'm not sure that it would matter.... God knows that didn't help Sam.

We just need the appropriate talent to compliment Bosh and some players that really WANT to play D.

Until that happens I'm skeptical that ANY coach will be able to right this ship.

Remember credibility is a factor in motivating people and JVG has credibility. He's been a winning coach before. Sam among other things had to establish that credibility and it really only worked on guys like Bosh and Calderon who responded to him.

I dunno about that. At least under Smitch, AB played decent defence (maybe why AB seemed to sulk under him and not play hard on offence because defence takes hard work to play). So maybe having a guy like JVG would be good if anything to make AB bust his ass once again.

Exactly, and Sam came in when the team was at it's lowest and earned the credibility through time with youg players from the start of a rebuild. Once that era ended and Bryan wanted to take the next step and try and add players to help Bosh and go to the second round of the playoffs, we needed a coach with a reputation and who has experience not another Rookie coach with so little personality.

Is it possible that Colangelo's hands were tied and they didn't want to pay Sam and another expensive coach at the same time which forced him to go cheap. And since he knows Jay, he stayed with him. I really wonder.

Plus 2 high ass 2nd rounders in a deep deep motherfucking draft.
If we don't make the playoffs this year, we give up our 2nd rounder to the Heat as part of the JO/Marcus Banks blockbuster. Where did you get the second 2nd rounder from? From the LA Clippers deal for Hassan Adams? That pick is conditional, I believe. Unless they make it to the playoffs, we don't get their pick. Ah, Colangelo, you make some good trades.

I remember thinking last year it was interesting how Andrea's d was so impressive the first month of the season, then when we hit January-February ish and he took off offensively he reverted back to not caring on that end. Now we know why. Triano coddles him enough that he doesn't have to care about defense when on the court, he probably doesn't even get told when he's doing something wrong

He was also boxing out a lot better last year

Were a D league team without Chris Bosh. Everyone else on our roster are scrubs that wouldnt get any starting minutes on any other NBA club right now.

Actually he has made alot of good deals. I'm not gonna lose sight of that because we're losing right now, and in the moment go against what i've said about him in the past. He's one of the better GM's in the league and that was the overwhelming consensus here this summer. But i guess that means nothing now, because all the "good moves" this summer are all of a sudden shit.
