Well I was right. It was the final debate.

The whole idea that Bargs is a better scorer is foolish. He isn't good at scoring. He is terribly inefficient and the only reason he has his PPG is because we give him the most shots. On Miami he would come off the bench and get maybe 8 shots per game. They wouldn't start him because of his inefficiency, pathetic rebounding and lack of effort on defense. One of the big reasons we're suffering this year is that despite Bargs shooting 36% on the year he is getting the most shot attempts per game on the team. Right now he is averaging roughly 16PPG on 16 shots per game. How dreadful is that!

Bosh is better at everything basketball-related besides *maybe* shooting wide open three pointers.

Bargnani's FG% have down each of the last 3 seasons and this season is shooting an unbearable 35FG%. Six weeks ago this fucker said he doesn't worry about his shot...........maybe he should start giving a fuck since it's the only thing we thought we could rely him for.

Right now I have no idea how he's getting such respect from our coaching staff other than those 13 games and his #1 pick status. The guy is easily the most inefficient first option in the league right now. My only hope is Lowry comes back soon and puts Fucknani in his place as the 3rd option.

No one can motivate Bargs, especially not for a whole season. Not Colangelo, Mitchell, Triano, Casey, Primo pasta. Nobody.

He doesn't care enough.

What is the most BS is how the coaches know this, his teammates know this, the fanbase knows this... yet nobody does anything.

Casey has said Bargs "is who he is", McGuire yesterday gave that telling quotation about how Bargnani is good when he plays with intensity(paraphrased), the fans surely know too. Why is something not done? Why is his terribly mediocre play tolerated and supported? The culture of failure on this team is centered on Bargnani.

I think it is honestly because Colangelo wants to live and die with Bargnani, and it is too hard to admit that the #1 pick did not advance the franchise like it was supposed to.

And JV is supposed to be the chosen one to legitimze Bargnani's game. He can ultimately mask the holes in Bargnani's game, do the dirty work and allow Bargnani to put up numbers. Oh, how Colangelo would like to have a contract running therough the 2014 season to allow JV to mature and bulk up. He's been criticized for years and would obviously like his "told you so" moment.

If Lowry, Derozan, a stud SF and JV are all playing near all-star level 2 years from now, no one is going to say much about Bargnani because they will be winning.

You would think they'd take steps to try and force Bargs to improve instead of saying "he is who he is." This is professional sports where winning is supposed to be the be-all, end-all. Tolerating mediocre is just such a bad precedent when you have hard-working players on the team that give it all they have.

need a healthy lowry back.. to really asses Bargnanni properly, I want to see Bargs with a healthy backcourt. Last season before the injury he was playing very well, but I think now that Val is down low he is just focused on offense and taking allot of bad shot selection and chilling on the outside

Bargnanni shouldn't even get a vote, because Bosh took us to the playoffs a few times.. the team will not progress if you have Bargs as our leader

Bargnani has disappointed alot of people. Look at Maurizio Gherardini. Gherardini discovered Bargnani when he was 16 playing for Stella Azzurra. Gherardini was hired before the NBA 2006 draft as vice president and assistant general manager. Even a guy like Masai Ujiri who was hired by the Raptors as Director of Global Scouting has become a general manager. Gherardini was bumped out of his position by Ed Stefanski and demoted to Ujiri's old position and given only a one year contract extension. This guy was supposed to be the greatest basketball mind outside of the US. If Bargnani had become the all-star player as he proclaimed, no way Gherardini is in the position he is in now.

I'm also shocked at how little I've heard about this guy over the past few years.

not a bad article about Bargs:

Time to stop judging Toronto Raptors’ Andrea Bargnani by potential | NBA | Sports | National Post

Potential?

Seems to me that people are frustrated because he does what he wants to do, or maybe more acurately does not do what he does not want to do, no matter what the coaching technique or motivation.

Can't say I like the technique, but Sam Mitchell went as far as not saying one word to him for 2 weeks. Not hello, not goodbye, nothing.

I think most fans would like him to forget about his "potential" and do the little things he is supposed to do instead of hanging teammates out to dry.
