It was more of an argument a few years ago (in terms of their respective futures with the Raps) - say at the end of the 2009 campaign. Bargs had improved quite a bit from his sophomore year, offensively at least. Seemed like all he needed was more shots. Given that he and Bosh could never co-exist and Bosh was primed to either jilt or be given a max contract, it wasn't totally unreasonable to side with Bargs, who at half the price had upside as a 20 point scorer. I fell for it. How naive I was; yes he became that 20 point a night scorer, but a rather inefficient one at that. Watching him loaf around disinterestedly for 6 years has taken a toll on me. Bosh wasn't a great defender while here either, but at least he was aware and passionate and consistent. He was totally consistent. And I was totally wrong.

andrea has more talent than 98 percent of hte nba

whats amazing about andrea is that he does this out of shape, no effort, and no heart, and he averages 17ppg

thats probably the most frustrating thing about him and thats the main reason why he'll never be chris bosh

bosh cares, plays hard, and plays with heart despite the haters that he has, and if you watch Bosh all of his career you know that he does, and i wasn't surprised to see Bosh be the second best player in the playoffs for the heat

The final debate should be, "Who wasted their talent more? Andrea Bargnani or Vince Carter".

Now that's a great question ..

For me it's easy ... It's Vince all the way ... He had the kind of talent that could of made him the best NBAer in history.

Bargs and Vince do have some similar characteristics ... they are both lazy and have fragile mental make-ups.

You think Bargs has a fragile mental makeup? I always just thought he was aloof.....couldn't care less what anyone thinks.

But I'm not sure the answer is so clear cut. Vince became a multi-time all-star, put up big numbers several times in games, defied teams to stop him and has a shot at the hall of fame. Granted he sucked his way out of town. Bargs with size, some athleticism, a shot, can handle the ball and given ample opportunity may not achieve even one accolade his whole career. Sad, but when he's done, he will probably just fade away.

Sorry about the hijack.

On any other team he'd average 8ppg because no other franchise would overplay him and cater to him like we do. He'd be benched for not playing D and not rebounding. But we're the Raptors and our current GM wasted the first overall pick on him so we'll continue to destroy the franchise in a vain attepmt to make Bargnani look good.

i dont know about 98% but talent is not what Bargnani is lacking. he's got plenty. enough to be an all-star.

Read this whole thread again. Its the same posters who know their ball and make their intelligent analysis, and some posters who live in their own world. So one guy makes a significant contribution with his team in getting an NBA ring, and his headed to his eighth consecutive all-star team, versus one guy who played like an all-star for 13 games last year and is best known for his Prego Commercial in his 7 years for the Toronto Raptors.

How does Bargnani have any votes over Bosh in this poll? What an embarrassment. Whoever voted for Bargnani should be banned from watching basketball.

Bargnani and Vince are a better comparison even though Vince has more talent in his pinky finger than Bargnani does in his entire worthless sac of a body.

18 people think (or thought) Bargs > Bosh.

The only thing Bargs has on Bosh is that he has more range (ie. can shoot from three a lot better than Bosh). Other than that though Bosh > Bargs.

I'm not sure the comparison is really as simple as an Andrea Bargnani vs Chris Bosh debate. You have to compare apples with apples. There are a lot of whatifs and I can't really say for one that Chris Bosh is better than Andrea or vice versa. Don't get me wrong though, if there is one thing I believe is that Bargnani has more talent than Bosh but as others pointed out, is much lazier and less willing to work on other important aspects of the game other than his shooting albeit more willing lately with Coach Casey.

For example, do you think Bargs would produce more scoring than Bosh if he was plugged into the Miami lineup in place of him? I would say so. Heck, that's why Bosh is shooting more 3's now. Because he's that open out there. Bargnani would be shooting wide open 3's all day.

Bosh during his time in Toronto did great things. Led this team with a mediocre roster year after year. Had to be the guy. Bargnani never really had to be the guy. Bosh took the game winning shot because he wanted to. I think Bargs just takes it because he's asked to. After Bosh left, it seemed like the franchise wanted Derozan to be the focus on offense again making Bargnani option 2 on offense.

Lastly, I think Bargs needs a change of environment. Under BC, he will never really reach his full potential. He needs a coach and a management team that will really make him work and accountable. Thing is, in my point of view. Bosh surpassed any expectations that I had of him and well, sad thing is Bargnani has yet to even brush the surface. And I'm not sure he ever will. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
