I think the steps he's taken so far this season can be sustained throughout the rest of the season and beyond. But that's just from what I've seen him do on the court. Coach Casey is expecting a lot out of Andrea, and I don't think he'll settle for anything less than Andrea playing to the best of his abilities.

Maybe he hasn't taken that next step and will shell back into his former self. Or maybe he will finally be the prolific scoring NBA big-man that we hoped he would turn out to be. I don't know about you guys, but I'm hoping for the latter. Not just to prove a point, but for the benefit of the team.
Now that's a POV that I can get behind.

Agreed.

Considering that MIA went to the finals last year (after only 1 season with their new roster) I think that Riley is pretty content.

Pretty sure riley wasn't a happy camper last summer. Lots of people predicted miami will walk all over the league, posibly breaking the wins record, and multiple titles were their self-stated goal. Neither happened and this is a make or break season for them. If they don't win, the big three will be broken.

meh, a couple wins shy of a championship without much of a center and little depth beyond the big 3 was a good run. and i think riley was probably somewhat happy with the season.

Stated by me and others.... he wil be blamed for lack of championships for 2 eyars and be traded since he can't play D and rebound like a star as is required bya big ticket and by what they need. Stand by it

Except it was clear from the beginning that they'll have to make do with just 3 stars, hence the 5 year deal they gave joel. The assumption was that having the best two players in the league plus another all star in his prime would compensate for the lack of depth.

And bosh, unfairly to him, will get most of the blame because riley can't trade wade, the hometown hero or lebron, the best player in the league.

I think that that would be a bit of a knee-jerk TBH.

The only guy available who would improve the team is D12. Otherwise they'll just be making lateral moves and screwing with the solid chemistry that they've already developed.

really?

I saw them start slow, annihilate everyone after that and make it to game 7 of the finals where they lost to a fantastically rounded Mavs team.

I'd say Miami did pretty good. I thought they were gonna suck.

They are WAY better this year, and have a couple young guys that are looking like steals no? Where I thikn you could be right is in the Ego dept. Lebron isn't showing signs he is growing up (wade either at times)... thats sad because if he could, they would be unbeatable. And if they actually let Bosh in on the party here and there.....

Bosh, he's better than Bargnani. He's an all round, and solid "player". Period.

Bargnani is more talented on offence, but he is still a space cadet.

No worries, I think I've made it open that I prefer Bargs to Bosh (and I'm a Bosh fan).

In the end, imo, the offence flows better, the team runs better, and most importantly the team isn't hamstrung by a rebuilding killing contract.

There is no doubt that at least to this point in their careers that Bosh has been better. Having said that, I prefer the raps without Bosh. He decided he couldn't be the man and wanted a greener pasture to be a side kick .. Props to him ..

Bargs is fine here given we are rebuilding and he's not over priced. He hss good trade value if we decide to make the move. With continued intensity on both ends of the court he may make an all star team some day.

Without Bosh, the Heat were on the verge of losing to the Celtics in the ECF. When he came back they cruised to the NBA Championship.

The thought that it was okay to let Bosh walk for nothing because Bargnani was there to replace him is the reason why the Raptors are in the current mess they're in.
