I agree.

Bosh and Bargnani are both ideal third stars. Ideal!

Book it! End Thread?

Does he get to the rim better than Bosh? Easily.

Is he better defensively? Not yet, but Bosh is no defensive stud either.

Is he better than Bosh off the dribble? Bosh barely uses his dribble. Andrea takes advantage of slow defenders by putting it on the floor, this season especially.

CB was a great, great player for us, I won't deny that. But give me the choice of building around Bosh or Bargnani, I'll take Bargs. But to each their own.
good thing ur not a gm....

How often did Bosh actually drive to the rim in his final years in Toronto? I don't remember seeing too much of that. Andrea's drives are becoming more and more frequent with each game.

Think of it this way, are we in any better position this year if we switch Andrea with Bosh? I doubt it.

His last season here he was going to the line constantly, much of the time on drives. He also got defenses stacked up against those drives.

Andrea is doing a really nice job of driving from behind the arc, and scoring in the paint, but he's still not getting right to the rim all that often. I'm looking to see what happens when the shots stop falling. So far in second halves he's shown a propensity to settle again for stretches. And he missed a layup in the 4th last night that should have been taken much stronger. If those stretches become habitual again, then there won't be too much to build around, although he's certainly shown enough to be thought of as a piece of the puzzle.

maybe you should have asked that question instead of who is the better player. would we be in a better position if we switched kobe and andrea? not necessarily but its obvious who's the better player.

We'd be in the same position but paying more salary. Bosh is slightly better, but it seems like they're trending in opposite directions. We've seen Bosh's best days... he's too busy holding hands in Miami

Long term, no not really. He'd win us more games, and keep us out of the good lottery picks. It would have been nice and interesting to have seen Andrea play like he is now a few years earlier. The dude's playing for his NBA life, and it's a bit sad that it came to that.

And that's just a conditioning thing that will hopefully improve as the season goes on.

Concerning Bosh though, I remember our offense becoming stagnant whenever he had the ball on an iso, something that happened more than it should. He takes too long to make his decision, which stalls any momentum that we had going for us on offense. Andrea, while still having room to improve in that area, has become much better at making up his mind, as well as making the right decision.

So when he lead his team to a blowout win the other night, it was just part of a downward trend? And Bargnani is heading to the All-Star game because he helped to beat two very bad teams? Let's be careful of overselling your guy. You should be thrilled that he's shown that he's finally gotten his head on straight and made you look pretty good so far. If he needs Bosh to be on the decline to make some kind of point about his own abilities, then you're just back on very shaky ground.

your point being? I did state the answer to your simple question... but it's obvious Bosh and Bargnani are very comparable players. Comparing them should also include cost.

It's not close? C'mon now, if Bargs keeps this play up he's an All-Star this year. And I'll guarantee that.

DK - if this team gets close to the eighth seed, then he could be considered as an AS. I'm hoping that isn't too likely. Let it happen next year.

How can it not be close? I don't understand how Bosh can be so much better than Andrea, especially at this point in their careers. Andrea brings just as much to table, for half the price.

hahahaha! Love it that you're using my line! We've come so far Panda!!!!

I actually think it is reasonably close. I think Bosh is a poor defender too, but a far superior rebounder. He is quicker, but lacks size. He labours on offence but definitely gets many more open looks in Miami. If Bargnani had the space and time that LBJ and Wade provide..... look out. Two of the top 5 players in the league? It's actually really wild that Miami has those two guys. Sucks for Bosh if he truly wanted to be considered a key part of the big 3... he's just not on their level. Everybody knows this.

Is Bosh better? Sure. But it's very close and maybe not true if Bargnani continues to grow, which he has each year he's been in the league. Maybe Bosh can begin to play D... but I think he's more of a stat guy than a team guy.

lol then you should have named the thread "who would you rather have" or "who's a better fit for this team" not "who is the better player" and then start arguing about something else....
