Default Is Chris Bosh a Superstar?

I'm honestly stunned that this is even a question. How could it be that a guy who is the single best offensive power forward in the Eastern Conference not be considered a "superstar"?

But right now there's a debate from a post yesterday on Dime, http://dimemag.com/2008/11/is-chris-bosh-a-superstar/, where a bunch of people say that he isn't in the "superstar" class.

It's not like CB isn't a marketable dude either. He's all over YouTube, and is one of the genuinely good guys in the League today.

The answer is No.

Win a playoff series first.

Lead a team.

Man up against a tough team.

He is no basketball superstar,....you tube star maybe...but I don't care about that.

In terms of play on the court, no, he isnt, not yet anyway. Hes got to have a couple Charlotte type performances vs the better teams and win a couple series then we'll start talking Dwade/Lebron/KG/Kobe/Duncan/CP3 type superstar class. CB is in the level below them IMO with Joe Johnson, Dirk, Roy, Amare, Deron Williams etc right now IMO. You could classify those guys as superstars too, but I think only the top guys should be classified as superstars.

Ask the same question yesterday at this time and most here would say yes. After him having a bad game last night against the best team in the league, most here will say he's not/overrated?

But yes he is a superstar in this league. One of the best PF in the East and the league.

My answer would have been the same, yesterday.

Yesterday we debated whether he was a franchise player, not a superstar. I hope tomorrow we can ask ourselves if he is a super-duper-superstar, because that's all that really matters.

Lebron and Kobe are in a class by themselves because they've dominated with nothing around them.... but the rest? Meh. Let's see how many games the Spurs win now with Parker and Manu out. How many playoff series did KG win when his teams were shit in Minny? What did Wade win without Shaq?

Exactly what i would've said...but i'm not so sure about CP3 i'm not completly sold on it
he had one great season...one..think about it he wasn't that big 06-07
If he is considered a superstar might as well put nash on your list

I don't think it's fair to put the current state of SA on to TD's shoulders. That team is atrocious beyond TD, I mean their second best player right now is roger mason. Lebron and Kobe always had at least decent supporting casts, big Z, Gooden might not be superstars, but they're good players, legit starters.

The thing with CP3 is that beyond his "one" good season, is they way he dominates games, regardless of competition. He's clearly an unique player, unlike Deron Williams who's skillset is fairly common.

Bosh has yet to do anything to qualify him as a superstar - name one thing he did so far that will be remembered by Raptor fans ... And no, 30 and 15 against Charlotte, or one season of 20-10 doesn't qualify.

To put things into perspective, Elton Brand is a more accomplished player in every way (winning, stats etc). Does anybody consider Brand a superstar?

Kobes team didnt make the playoffs either the 1st yr when he had shit around him. I think if you put any one of those guys I mentioned on a shit team in the west they wouldnt make the playoffs either, Lebrons lucky hes in th eeast or he'd suffer the same fate.

Kobe and Lebron may be on a SLIGHTly better level, but its not by much. All of them have their flaws.

I do. He's pretty damn good if you ask me.

Amare.. KG... TD... Brand.. Bosh... NONE of those guys can do it by themselves. NONE of those guys will look good if they have shit around them.

When I spoke about Kobe I was thinking more along the lines of 2-3 years ago.

Last year he had some actual teammates, yes. lol.

Bosh is the next Garnett. Hope he can find his own Pierce one day.

Brand better than Bosh, give your head a shake to clear out the cobwebs, Brand doesn't come close to Bosh.

Until he's allowed to actually touch the ball against superstars,ie: Garnett, then he has yet to reach that level.

he's averaging 20 and 10 and 2 blocks for his whole career, while playing half of said career with a good team in a conference with a lot of elite PF and C. Bosh only averaged 20 and 10 for one season, in a conference with few good PF, and on a bad team (for the most part). And Brand's a much better defender too. What makes Bosh so special compared to Brand?

If you're talking about the present, it's hard to compare since Brand is still recovering and Bosh had a good start of the season.
