Default Chisholm: Time to Trade Bargnani

Time is up, we need to take the next step, and the next step for progression should not include Bargnani:

Quote:
"However, it now looks like those thirteen games will serve as an indictment rather than an exoneration. Those thirteen games that should have pushed people out of their cynicism will now only sink people further into it. In typical Raptors fashion, those thirteen games that should have been the start of what is, instead represent yet another case of what could have been but isn't.

That's why it's time to trade Andrea Bargnani.
Quote:
Well, through eight games this season Bargnani is averaging 16.3 ppg on .357 shooting and just 4.6 rpg and he has no calf injury to blame as a reason for his lack of production. Opposing power forwards are averaging a blistering 20.5 PER against him according to 82games.com and the team is allowing a whopping 11.4 points per 100 possessions more when Bargnani is on the court.
Quote:
Perhaps more than anything, that is the reason the Raptors have to trade Bargnani. They can no longer shrug their shoulders at players that don't work to max-out their talent. That can no longer be a defining characteristic of the club. They cited DeMar DeRozan's work ethic as a big reason why they felt obligated to extend his contract. They cited Jonas Valanciunas' heart and hustle as big factors in not only drafting him fifth but being willing to wait a year for his arrival. They love the intensity of guys like Kyle Lowry and Amir Johnson. Those guys represent what the club says it wants to be about, which by extension has to mean that Andrea Bargnani does not.

If this club is so eager to move into the next phase of their evolution, then they have to admit that those thirteen games didn't mean what they thought they did. They have to work to expunge from the roster the pieces that don't fit the personality that the team so desperately wants to adopt, and that that process has to start by - finally - moving Bargnani out of Toronto."

If the Raptors package him with let's say Terrence Ross and Linas Kleiza, they could fetch something decent and needed,in return. Maybe they shouldn't actively shop him,but they should definitely explore options/field calls about him. Amir Johnson is capable enough starting at PF until the season is up if they don't get a PF in exchange for Bargnani. Even acquiring expiring contracts may be worth it,then pursue a player like Paul Millsap in free agency.

Given how DD's been playing, maybe we should be shopping him too. Maybe we can get a huge haul for him. Package them together and get ten first round picks.

Even if you create hundreds of threads like this, BC won't give damn about it... So quit it and just watch games.

It's just so hard to find a team in NBA that would want AB.
Cleveland?
Miami? no money
I got it:
Trade AB for JJ and picks, this way you sort of get rid of AB for free.

Actually you maybe on to something Carp,as much as I like DeRozan it would open up alot of playing time for Ross and you can definitely acquire a bonafied SF or PF for him,Bargnani and something else. The only problem is,that's alot of money to commit for an inconsistent(thus far) but talented young player(DD) and an underachieving questionable starter(AB). It really sucks that Toronto may not have their 1st round pick next year.

Denver might think about it.

Most Raptor fans were hoping to compare him to Kevin Love etc. In reality he's on that second tier level with guys like Faried.

Neither trade would happen. Not only that, we don't need yet another PF.

Um...well thats because he would be, and you know.....

i say trad ehim, but to who, and for what? he sucks and is fat now. I love this place, everyone here says BC is an idiot, and that any other GM would do better here, but isnt the same breath say, trade a lately un-tradable player to another team or one of their top young talents. Its fucking unbelievable. So all these guys, who are so much better than the GM here, are going to hop to the phones to say HELL YES LET US GIVE YOU OUR FUTURE FOR YOUR HORRID PAST!

Ya, thats about right, if BC cannot trade Bargnani right now for a great return, he is shitty, because the guys that are smarter than him, wont take what he's offering.

hhahaha

Classic
