Default Chisholm: Relax Raptors fans, it's pre-season

Quote:
There were more than a few fans last night packed into the John Labatt Centre in London who were vocally unimpressed by what the Raptors offered on the court, but it can be said that many simply missed the point of the evening. While there is much that needs to be cleaned up in terms of execution for this club, that is exactly why the training camp and pre-season schedule lasts for the whole month, not just six days.

What went down last night was the first chance a group of virtual strangers got to attempt to execute a brand new offensive and defensive system, and that is exactly what it looked like was going on. Passes were thrown to non-existent receivers, plays broke down while movement ceased and rotations were botched all over the floor.
Nonetheless, the team only played one non-competitive quarter (a 36-22 second quarter) and there were some positives to be taken away from what went down otherwise, including a 48-42 second half advantage and 16 offensive rebounds.

For all you hittin the panic button just chill. We already showed 100% improvment from the first to second game.

what do people expect? we had training camp for like 6 days. With 9 new guys what? after 6 days of practice with no bosh/hedo/wright we are suposted to be sick already. Ha, if we looked like this come the last preseason game then you can worry a bit.

I would really love to go to some preseason games but it seems that they are pretty much regular price......

They should have them at rock bottom prices and make up for it on concession sales....Didn't look that busy last night.

if previous postseasons are any indication, i'd like them to lost every game. i can also understand the panic button to an extent. hype, and the die hard desperation for a winner can drive crazies bonkers.

Preseason games mean nothing!
But they can be enjoyable to watch (don't even keep score)

Last 2 games Triano was playing Banks, DeRozan, Douby, Weems, Johnson, and POB for almost the whole 4th quarter - Don't believe for one minute either coach was trying to win either game at the end.

Players are getting into game shape, coaches are trying out plays, bench guys are trying to earn a spot in the rotation. Take preseason for what it is - Practice!

And take in a game, they can be fun!
