We did the same with Jarrett Jack when Jose went down in the 2009-10 season. It's not exactly making one the starter over another. IMO for that to happen both players would have to be healthy and playing and one would essentially beat the other one out of a job. That being said, I like both players.
Yeah, that's what I said, but there was a reason why McHale made it happen and shipped his ass out of HOU basically for a bag of peanuts. There was clearly some tension there.
He is in the same level of Dragic, who played well. I don't see players like CP3 or Dwill coming off the bench after an injury though. Just saying, no need to defend Lowry everytime we mention him.

Dragic and Lowry are both mid tear starting PG's .... They have different strengths and probably similar outcomes. This is just tinkering, unless has a bigger plan

Deng's leadership would be great ... frankly, I think that's the biggest issue with Raps team at this time. No real veteran leader that plays consistent team ball.
Rudy is saying things about being the leader, but he will need to start showing unselfish play on a consistent basis.

People who think like this can't see the big picture. So we pick up Dragic and Deng to make the playoffs and lose in the 1st round this year. Then Deng leaves in free agency because we're not willing to pay him 10-11 million per season, and we're stuck with essentially the same team as before with a slight upgrade at PG and no incoming talent. Genius.

Plus you have to actually factor in the other team we're trading with. Why would Chicago ever agree to trading Deng for Gay when Gay has 20 million coming to him next year, and they're an extremely cap conscious team? Why would PHX trade Dragic for Lowry when Dragic is the better player, and they'd essentially just be trading him for cap space when his value is a lot higher?

Terrible article Chisholm. Lets just be like the Bucks and let the treadmill roll on until we completely handcuff ourselves with mid level players who kill our cap and we're unable to ever get out of the black hole of mediocrity. Genius. What a tool.

But but but internal growth and culture.

Haven't you heard, finances don't matter in the nba. There's no cap at all.

I don't think adding Deng would add anything significant.
I agree that we do need a David West type player to take the next step.
But, I don't think Deng is that guy.

Is Dragic that much better than Lowry? I'm not sure about that, either.

We'd need something significant to upgrade this team to the next level.

I think Phoenix would go for a deal centered around Dragic for Ross. Suns are in rebuild mode and Dragic isn't needed with Bledsoe running the show. This would mean we could have Lowry to offer the Bulls for Deng. And how does a team as desperate as the Bulls are for a point guard turn down Lowry?

I just want Rudy Gay gone. By himself. Is there no way to lobby Silver for a special Colangelo mercy amnesty?

And topping off my frustration is seeing Ross playing at such a higher level now. No way he goes anywhere.

Ross def needs more playing time. I think people judge him by his PPG but he does very well on D like you mentioned, and he's way more active than DD. He can be very good.

Well it's getting rid of Rudy's 19 million that is the kicker in the Gay/Deng deal.
