Chisholm: Nuggets' Chandler could be good fit for Raptors

Quote:

He's still a 6-foot-8 athlete, still a solid defender and rebounder, still able to create his own shot and he's still a fantastic finisher in transition. He's not an All-Star, but he's not paid like an All-Star, either, and he'd be a great fit in Toronto's starting five that still needs shot creators on the wings.

That's a bit of a depressing thought. Thanks Chisholm. We have Landry Fields already. I would hope we could be a bit more patient and aim a little higher, and not simply justify Tim's weak articles from the past.

thought 08-12-2012 12:11 AM

okay timmy, good job big boy, 1 pizza roll for deciphering the small forward position. now, one pizza roll for each of the other four positions. that's four potential pizza rolls!

ClingRap 08-12-2012 02:37 AM

My despising of tim chisholm chimes is really rooted in my jealousy that he gets paid to do what we do in our spare time, and not nearly half as well as half of the guys on here. sure his articles have polish, but if i took five minutes to pre-write everything in word then could i make 50 grand as a lurker, errr, columnist.

Ball Don't Lie 08-12-2012 02:39 AM

Yeah, we totally need another fringe starter with a long contract.

LilRomeo 08-12-2012 05:33 AM

I'm beginning to think that this Chisholm guy frequently visit Raptors-related forums because on the other Raptors forum, there was a thread about whether Raptors should call the Nuggets and make a trade.

Now, BAM!

Someone wrote an article suggesting the Raptors should get Chandler.

Here's the thread... Should Raptors be on the phone with Denver?

rapsmannn 08-12-2012 06:11 AM

i wouldnt mind geting chandler but what if denver decides to start gallo at the 4, then there going to need chandler to start

LKeet6 08-12-2012 07:12 AM

DD for Chandler wouldn't be a bad trade?

suits both team's needs, takes us away from the DD contract decision. Chandler makes 5.9mill next year and averages out at 7mill per. DD will probably want at least 7mill?

I'm a big fan of DD but you could argue chandler fits better. i'm not saying it's a must do trade but i don't think it's a bad trade either. And still leaves us with a jose + Ed potential deal from something else. Maybe even for filler and a 1st rounder. I know, i'm probably dreaming and nobody seems to need jose but just suggesting.

Report: Heat's LeBron James could be a good fit for Raptors.

LOG 08-12-2012 03:49 PM

Ed Kleiza demar Jose+ all of our picks till 2059 for LBJ :dancing:

Lowry/Calderon/Lucas
Fields/Ross/Calderon
Chandler/Kleiza/Anderson
Bargnani/Davis/Amir/Acy
Valanciunas/Gray/Amir

That is a solid lineup that can certainly play defense in Casey's system. Ultimately though Chandler is a little too much like Fields imo.

they are pretty similar, but not sure where the problem is. Bargs is our pure scorer, lowry is our streaky scorer, fields and chandler and defensive, athletic guys with shooting range, fields is a 2-3 guy, chandler is a 3-4 guy. bench is decent to good. Seems like a good balance to me.

just to reiterrate, i'm not dead-set on getting chandler or getting rid of DD, just think it's a trade to consider.

wchoi213 08-13-2012 02:45 PM

I don't think Denver will welcome DD, as they already have Iggy, Brewer, Galo, Fournier.
So if we were to acquire Chandler, it should be 3-way deal that includes another team that needs a starting SG, like Utah.

That being said, some trade like below would sound good:

Denver acquires Derrick Favors
Utah acquires Derozan
Toronto acquires Chandler

out of the 4 players you mentioned only 1 is an SG!? and DD is better and more experienced than fournier at this point.

Iguodala will be their SG.

Lawson/Miller
Iguodala/Fournier/Hamilton
Gallinari/Chandler/Brewer/Miller
Faried/Randolph/Gallinari
McGee/Mozgov/Koufas

maybe.

i still think they'd consider the trade. Gall at the 4? faried as the energy bench guy. Gall as the scorer bench guy? DD as the bench guy? i think all options are open for them right now.

Gallo plays a little 4 yes. As for Iggy, he's played a lot at the SG position.

Funny thing, chandler and Fields were the two Knicks I liked the most and was kinda envious of NY for having. It would be cool to have them both to see if I had reason to believe so, or if it was just "the grass is greener" type stuff. It seems like those two were at one time supposed to be the new young core there, now poof, both are gone.
