Jose is top 5 and Demar is at the rock bottom. Yep. When he's not potentially the next Kobe of course.

DD has just been having trouble playing in Andrea's shadow.

Big picture
After over 10 games this season:

14 ppg 3 rpg on 41% shooting from the floor (against some pretty cap teams)

I'll give him this: he's not the worst SG in the league and we should be pleased with his improved jump shot.

But, when being compared to some of the better SGs in the NBA, he comes absolutely nowhere close. In fact, it seems like he's not even moving in that direction (of becoming an all-star caliber SG)

if that was what was put forward, i wouldn't have needed/bothered to respond.

Not really arguing against you. I too, disagree with him being the worst SG in the league.
But, 5/6 for 14 tonight isn't really an indication of how he's actually done so far.

well, you did say 4 games. but then you said these things, and i'll describe how my thought process followed you through it:

Quote:
he does nothing of value right now.
so does that mean those 4 games, or does that count today.... this was posted before the game, but maybe you are implying that it will continue...? i'm sorta with you...

Quote:
he's fucking terrible lately.
ok, still sorta with you, but he was really solid and then slumped a bit, so what does lately mean?

Quote:
AND, isn't his contract extension yera this year???? GOOD.

We pay him what he's worth and lock him in a 1.5 million a years for the next 7.
ok, now i'm losing you. does this mean you think it will continue all year? not sure what you mean here... well, we'll see what happens...

fast forward to tonights game, he goes 5/6 in the 1st quarter and drops 14 points. now i post a response to poke around a bit, because no one that does that kind of stuff gets signed for $1.5 a year (not to mention that 5 years is max for signing your own free agents, but that's another story).

so remind me again where i paraphrased...?

the people who agree with this article aren't watching demar play, they're just watching his shots and checking who scored the last point against us. although he's been a bit flat footed, which should be expected with this schedule, he's shown improvements across the board. if anything, these offensive struggles are a blessing. let him work thru it this year in order for him to learn how to handle it once the games start meaning something.

Demar will not all of a sudden become a great player when games start 'meaning' something. He's averaging 14 a night on 41% shooting against some pretty awful teams. This is a concern and turning into something positive does not make any sense.

how is his play a concern? he's not always going to miss 59% of his shots. he's struggling offensively, but he's proven to be an efficient scorer.

why are you even bringing up numbers? why don't you talk about how he's been playing? are you concerned that he's improved defensively? are you concerned that he's improving his range? are you concerned that he's handling a lot of responsibility as an extremely young minded player? what exactly is there to be concerned about? him not meeting message board expectations?

His desire to win has always been extremly evident, he's the last player to be concerned about. He'll find his way out of a slump.

He's looking better defensively in every game. His head is in the right place if that is his point of emphasis.

Needs to work on a crossover. His blow by ability really sucks.

I'm afraid "numbers" and how he's been "playing" go hand in hand.
