Arrow Charlotte and Indy interested in one of the Raps PGs?

The “but as you know …” thing is the most important there because if there’s a deal, he’s going to make it and I’m told there is quite a bit of interest out there in each of Jarrett Jack and Jose Calderon.

Now, many have read that Indy wants a point guard and I’m told Charlotte’s in the market as well so we can guess phone lines have been burning between those cities.

I'm pretty sure they'd take Jack back.

The thing is, what do either team have of value have to offer the Raps?

if that was the two options, charlotte would be the most preferred option

Tyrus Thomas is the only guy I'd want from Charlotte that would work in a trade with one of our PGs.

Default Trades;;;Chris Paul;;;Raptors

Toronto trades:

Jarrett Jack
Hedo Turkoglu
1st round pick(13th)2010

for

Danny Granger
Jamal Tinsley(contract is still on the books for another year, even though his not playing for their team...around 5million)

I'm all for Tyrus Thomas for Calderon....get it done.......

Chris Paul is available
If we know Bryan Colangelo his probably trying everything 2 get chris paul...even taking Okafor contract, maybe even posey's...
If it means going 10 million over luxury cap...do it...

I think most posters over-rate Calderon. No team will acquire Calderon and his contract unless we take a bad contract back. Indiana is looking at Darren Collison, Ty Lawson, George Hill, and Johnny Flynn:

"The Pacers have inquired about New Orleans' Darren Collison, San Antonio's George Hill, Denver's Ty Lawson and Minnesota's Jonny Flynn. Collison, Hill and Lawson were backups last season who flourished when replacing injured starters."

Trading pick for point guard might be way to go for Pacers | IndyStar.com | The Indianapolis Star

Why would Pacers want to trade for a point guard who doesn't play defense with a bloated contract when they can get a young promising point guard on a rookie contract. Its funny how much the value of Jose has declined. Just a few years ago, Atlanta was offering Josh Childress & the 12th pick for Jose. Now, BC would offer Jose for the 12th pick alone.

It would be tough for Indiana and us to be trade partners, especially when it comes to PG's. Indiana is looking for someone long term, who fits in with their plans with Granger and Hibbert and who is preferably on a rookie contract. They're gonna have a ton of salary coming off the books next season.

Charlotte seems like a more logical destination. They'd probably want Jack as opposed to Calderon.

not that i think its ever going to happen, but trading in effective scoring wings like granger is exactly the kind of pre july 1st trade we need to show Bosh our aims to make the playoffs and be a winning team
getting players like that are going to be a must if we want to re-sign him...i think colangelo knows this for sure, still, dont see indy giving him up

They can't trade what they're on the hook for Tinsley anyway.

Keep jack,

Hes solid, can play any role you give him, is only 5mill/3 years and is durable - not missing a game in 3 of 4 of the last seaons. Jose, on off/ always hurt with pussy injuries,

it's not an issue of which to keep, but rather which someone else wants...

From Chad Ford chat today, Toronto offered Calderon for Indiana's 10th pick. Indiana balked and refused to pay the expensive contract.

"Chad Ford, ESPN Insider: Calderon's deal is awful. Toronto has already tried to do that deal. Indy not interested in paying him $8 million a year for the next 27 years."

Honestly.

The last thing we would need is an asshole like Granger verbally abusing his teammates every time he doesn't see eye to eye with a decision they make that doesn't lead to the ball being in his hands. I'm not sure the fragile psyches of Bargnani, Calderon and our younger guys could handle a teammate like Granger.

It would be fun seeing him and Turkoglu get in the occasional pissing match though.
