in that case better sign big show to a contract

even playing center Bargnani gets lost, always out of position, missing switches ect. Its a fast game period so don't give us that crap sj, even shaq was quick for a fatass(when dominant defensively)

It's nice to have length in the frontcourt... two seven footers is a huge deal.

Raptors should add I <3 Haters to their jersey Lol. This sorta reminds me of Cwebbs fab 5, and when he didnt even want to mention about the raptors...

If they wre all paid millions with 4-5 year contracts Ill worry. Most of these signings were just used as role players and not part of the future. Majority of them wont even be resigned next year most likely. And its better than overspending for someone else that we most likely have no chance at getting. Plus itll be waste if we sign one now and have Jonas come over next year

These reporters got to chill

How we're getting criticized for taking cheap flyers on guys who, in all likelihood, are nothing more than placeholders until next year is beyond me.

I'm curious as to who all these people criticizing these moves would rather have signed? These are bottom of the barrel signings and I'm not sure who really thinks otherwise. We know what we're getting and these guys will serve their role and move on, or show something and we can retain them if necessary.

This article is bullshit. Grey stepped in nicely last year when Okafor went down for the Hornets and thats all he's going to do here. They're saying a $1million, one year signing for one of the leagues bottom dwellers is the worst of the FA class? REALLY? When they gave DeAndre Jordan Tyson Chandler money?? How about the outrageous contract they gave Caron Butler who not only rarely plays full seasons but also just came off major surgery?

Guns don't kill people, media types with their head in their sphincters kill people.

I'm not confused. I've been in games with NBA players. I myself was not "fast" but I was a hell, a HELL of a defender. (please don't start on this guys, it is what it is, I'm NOT playing the part pf the big bad ball player)

Defense is as much about mental awareness/ intelligence and toughness, as it is being fast. ESPECIALLY in the paint.

Bargnani for example, isn't even remotely slow. He's a gazelle. but he's a little bit slow witted, a bit less than motivated, and really, to sum it up, a bit of an airhead. Now Gray, he isnít. Word on the street is that he is smart, heís a hard worker, and Casey himself likes how he navigates in a Zone defense. That ALONE tells me heís a smart defender because honestly, nailing coverageís and being in the right spot is all about your brain, not your brawn.

Now, being an athlete will help you to make some seriously awesome plays now and again, but if thatís all ya got, youíre a tool on defense. See: ALMOST EVERY ATHLETIC PINE RIDER IN THE NBA. They throw down windmills in warm ups, but canít stay on the floor for 5 minutes with blowing assignments (that usually make someone else look bad) and amassing 3-4 super quick fouls.

So no gentlemen, Iím not confused, I just understand the game.

Bargnani's not a dolt though.

Rosen does not hate Toronto. He despises Colangelo.

This article is a piece of shit. All the contracts mentioned are relatively insignificant.

Instead of picking on veteran minimum contract, the writer should grow a pair and focus on the bigger contracts.

and he knows that the hate toronto fans have for him gets his articles the required hits that keeps him employed. hollinger is the same. he cheap shots Raptors fans because he knows that when he does it, it gets him a lot more attention than he deserves.

Magloire is for the fans, and for the room. They need to give Casey help turning the culture around, a coach cant do ti alone, players dont listen to coaches. Carter and Magloire will be huge for Casey, and you WILL see results.

Its all about down the road. Whoever is left after this year has to have the right mindset. Derozan HAS to learn to be tough, same with Davis, Bargs, Amir....etc.

People here, or in the media can say what they want, Rosen is merely talking about on the floor success, he knows whats going on otherwise.

+ spot on

A couple of quotes I found from Casey and Johnson:

Quote:
“I’ve been impressed with him,” Casey said.

“His play so far has been great,” Johnson said. “I think that him coming along was one of the biggest pieces of the puzzle that we needed.”

This is a silly article. Any article grading deals without mentioning dollars spent is silly, and the majority of FAs on that list were signed to 1-yr near-minimum/veteran contracts. IMO, the Chandler signing was the worst FA signing thus far (and as many posters pointed out on the site, Hoopshype's Rosen signing may be even worse...).

This article doesn't really target Toronto specifically, so I can't really identify with the Toronto vs. Rosen comments. Nonetheless ... blacklisted for lack of intelligence.

Rosen has some sort of personal vendetta against the Raptors.
