It's all about finding who can make up for Andrea's ballwatching. This team is starting to turn me off completely.

I want to see real improvement on defense. That's going to take more than cosmetic changes. Let's see that accountability we've heard so much about.

This. The defense is very disappointing. I think there was a thread in the pre-season about our regression on defense. It is clearly evident in the first few games that the defensive system is not working, especially early on in the game. I am noticing too much blow-bys and too little help. Andrea Bargnani, who was supposed to have taken a step last season, is not showing the same effort as he did a year ago. Either that or NBA scouts have learned how to beat up our defensive system.

Imo, Casey should have never emphasized offense in training camp and just worked on defense.

Ross and JV have some learning to do but can still get minutes on the 2nd unit. Fields has lost his confidence. He is not doing anything with authority.

The problem is that we're playing with 2 centers on defense. Andrea needs to play his natural position - off the bench.

Man I wish Colangelo went after Mayo hard this offseason instead of pitching a deal for Nash and signing Fields. A summer of Mayo + Lowry would have been a lot better than this crapfest. I still have a feeling that somehow we'll end up signing Pietrus.

Anyway, I'll take Anderson's defense in the starting lineup with being the 4th option on offense and have three scorers off the bench (Calderon, Ross, Kleiza). This teams has severely missed Linas Kleiza so far which goes to show how shit that position is for us.

Don't know if was even possible since he really wanted to be in Dallas but I would absolutely have loved if we could have got him. Rather overpay for him than Fields.

If Derozan can't cut it at SF (mainly on D) you still have your assets (ie: DD, Ross, Calderon's expiring, Davis) to try and go after that SF, Gay/Deng etc.....

Dominic McGuire is who you want. He will guard the better wing player and provide help defense for Bargs. Dude is talented and deserves it.

I don't think Anderson will lose anything by starting but he's been consistent off the bench that I'd be afraid of not being able to replace his production. Maybe Mcguire may get the nod if Kleiza isn't ready. I definitely think Fields is the odd man out,and the decision is just. Toronto is getting off to slow starts and he's a large reason why. I hate to pile on him but he has been playing horribly. I'd be tempted to slide DD to the 3 and start Ross but it may be a bit early for the rook who hasn't earned it anymore than Fields did through preseason
