Ignore the Bosh rederic!

The Raptors seem to be playing better as of late does that mean Bosh is staying put at the trade deadline?

I don't think it means that at all -- though I'm sure their recent success helps. Unless the Raptors are legit contenders, I don't see Bosh sticking around. The Raptors are another team I think will be very active at the trade deadline. I think they'll try to see if they can swap Calderon for a starting two guard.

This would be a good move IMO. We are sorely lacking at the 2 right now and overabundunt at the 1.

Teams will be getting ready to go in for the kill. Jose will be gone if Jose wants to go. BC and Jose are pretty tight. When Jose signed that extention both he and BC talked about the future of this team.Jose could have bailed if wanted too, he could have made more money else where but his heart was in TO. he even altered his contract his first year to help BC meet his cap. If BC now has a change of heart he will talk to Jose. Both see and feel the same regarding the direction of our club.

Yeah, Jose alone won't net us a starting shooting guard. He might have to be paired with an Amir Johnson or a DeMar Derozan. I say a package of Calderon and Johnson could get us Caron Butler, but only because Washington is looking to clean house.

Washington would want cap relief... I bet Wright is a better fit in that deal than Amir... especially if they are cleaning house and not just tinkering...

3 way to get caron, only way.

Jose to Miami for QRich or Haslem(exp) Pair either of them with Amir(big small pairing) or Wright(same) to net Caron.

Probably wouldnt work but it would be on the right track.

I like what you're thinking, but unless Miami covets Jose really bad, no way they trade their expirings... who knows... unless they think bringing Jose in gives them a chance to land Bosh too...

Yeah I just looked at every NBA teams' roster and payroll. There are no 1 for 1 (give or take a filler player) trades for Jose which get us a SG back that make any sense.

The three best players I saw which you could trade for him would be Caron Butler (SF), Stephen Jackson, and Josh Howard. Unfortunately giving up any of those guys to get Jose makes little sense for the other teams.

If we do get back a decent SG our way it will be in a larger multiplayer trade it looks like, barring any significant injuries to other PGs which raise demand for Jose.

This is a challenging situation. I wish there was a half decent NBA GM game around.

Oh yeah thanks, I've seen that. What I had in mind was an NBA GM simulation, a la NHL Eastside Hockey Manager.

I was thinking about that. There was a thread not too long ago showing the Sacramento Bee listing Toronto as one of the teams interested in him. That's definitely a possibility.

To me that trade doesn't make sense though. I'm not really sure why they would want to give up Martin when they already have an excellent PG in Tyreke Evans. I don't recall why they'd wanna give up Martin, if its for financial reasons then the Jose deal makes even less sense.

On the flipside, Martin is a tremendous talent and would be our first legit number 2 behind Bosh. The problem is that we don't need more offense, Martin doesn't play D, and apparently he requires the ball a lot, which is one of the reasons we would like to drop Jose in the first place. His playing style doesn't complement the Raptors as constructed.

So I think if we get Kevin Martin there would have to be a bunch of other moves/players for it to make any sense, which is why I wasn't really talking much about Jose for Martin straight up.

Actually, Martin is a guy that doesn't need the ball a lot.... plus, Tyreke is often thought to be a better SG... not all think so... plus he is a guy they have long rumoured to deal.

Secondly, it's not bad to have a stud 2 that isn't necessarily a stopper at the two, but he is another guy that can close out games... and I don't think he is necessarily a bum on defence, but as long as he is able to provide similar resistance at the position as we are currently getting...
