TBH I'm not that high on drafting tweeners. If he is capable of guarding 3s on defense, sure but if he's too slow to guard the 3 and too small to play the 4 then no.

There are alot of bruising threes in the NBA and he's got good size and quickness.... and I love the putback dunks..... I think he's a 3 in the big show.

he didn't mean the 1st overall pick, he meant with our #1 pick. We are not likely to get the #1 pick, if we do, it's almost certain we'll go after irving

at least that was my take on that response

Even if Williams was better playing and was comfortable at the PF spot, I wouldn't draft him unless we trade him. Huge log jam at the PF spot. And Amir and Ed are proven young talent.

i hope they draft Williams..
i see potential in that guy.. college they used him to play big, but in NBA he would have more freedom to expand his game..

i don't really care for Irving, because I liked how Bayless finished off the season, and it does not make sense to have him come off the bench next year

they probably will keep Jose.. that's fine, have him come off the bench, id rather they move Bargs then Jose anyway

I really don't care who they draft because I really don't see an outstanding guy here. Willams I feel plays more like a 4 than a 3 and could have some problems adjusting to the NBA.

Irving, when he plays, is impressive but the key there is when he plays.

I'm just hoping that whoever is chosen becomes a good rotation player (something this draft can produce).

I doubt they move gasol or randolph after their playoff showing.

I still think that a guard rotation of Irving/DD/Bayless could be outstanding.

If we take Williams I just hope that the kid can play the 3 effectively.

Williams said he sees himself as a three, and wants to play in the NBA as a three, not a four. So if that is coming from him.. it can only be good news.

I'm just hoping they would cheap out on Gasol and try a quick fix with Bargnani at centre instead.

Good. Williams is the best player in the draft. At least they know it too.

Williams is a 3 in the NBA and has all the skills to play the 3. He is not a PF and will not be one no matter where he plays.

You didn't see him play in March then I assume. He has a great face to the basket game.

I think its pretty clear if Cleveland gets the first pick they will draft Irving because they traded Mo Williams for Baron Davis. If they draft Williams everyone will think they want a Lebron James replacement, and I don't think Cleveland wants that label.

If Minnesota gets the first pick they will also pick Irving. First of all... the GM has a fascination with point guards because he always drafts them, and Flynn isn't working out on that team. They also have Michael Beasley so if they draft Williams it'll be shocking.

Of course this is assuming both teams get the first pick. If we get the first or second pick I think its a guaranteed lock for Derrick Williams.

I've been doing a little research and have come to this conclusion: David Stern should boycott this years draft (since the lockout is on the way). That way the 2012 trade will be straight STACKED!
