Default Chad Ford: Bosh Wants To Leave Toronto

I thought the other thread was getting a little stale hence this new one, so apparently Chad Ford back's up SAS' sentiments regarding Chris wanting to play elsewhere.

Please ... If it wasn't for us fans he or no player would be making their millions. We have every right to boo or cheer who we want during a game. If our Star Player is playing like a highschooler, we can and will boo him. Bosh obviously hasn't been to any NHL games in Toronto, where the team is booed almost as much as they are cheered ... and the Maple Leafs are one of the most storied franchises in all of sports. Bosh, if you don't like the booing, suck it up and play better to earn the cheers. Remember Tracy Mcgrady and Vince Quitter? They still get booed at the ACC. Get your act together Bosh or you'll be next. Thanks Chad, I needed a place to vent.

Chad Ford: (1:08 PM ET ) Now do you understand why the Bosh rumors are flying? I can't speak to the veracity of Stephen A. Smith's report. However, the word around the league is that Bosh wants to leave. Bryan Colangelo says that Bosh hasn't told him that. Bosh has said he hasn't told Colangelo that. But what about Bosh's agent? Or someone else close to Bosh? Even if it's never been said, isn't the writing on the wall? The question is, is Colangelo better off doing something now or waiting until this summer. There's an argument for both approaches. It sounds pretty strongly that Colangelo is taking the latter approach. I've heard from a couple of NBA teams that he's been pretty strong in telling them he's not trading Bosh right now. But if the right offer came along ... wouldn't he have to look at it?

Chad Ford: (1:13 PM ET ) At this point, meaning by the trade deadline? I think Colangelo would need to get a young potential superstar back. He can't give Bosh away. This summer, if things look like re-signing Bosh in 2010 isn't going to happen, it could be much less. That's why I think there's an arguement that you trade him now. A team in contender mode might be willing to give up more to have him for two title runs. As for Cleveland, they don't have the pieces to make a deal. But I wonder if a Miami deal that sent Michael Beasley, Shawn Marion's expiring contract and perhaps a future first or Daequan Cook might do it? If I was Pat Riley I'd jump all over that. A Bosh, Wade connection would be awesome.

Cue the Bosh is overrated talk. Wait, let's keep J.O. and also let's bring back John Thomas while we're at it.

The Leafs are one of the most storied franchises in all of sports?

There's no hope. We are fucked. And maybe we deserve it. If people want to pay money just to boo their own team, then what do they really expect their team will amount to?

Ooooohhhh, big surprise there!

Secretly, I think all of this (booing, feeling unappreciated) does get to Chris. Problem is, if he thinks he has it rough here, if he goes someplace else, he'll get chewed out twice as much. He has to realize this. I think Colangelo will smooth all of this out. At the same time, it wouldn't surprise me if he got dealt. With that being said, if he did get traded, he'd be booed every time he touches the ball when he comes back to the ACC.

And I should say the passion is nice, but often misplaced, and if I was invested in the teacher's pension, why should I worry about putting a good team together when people are willing to pay to boo whatever gets thrown out there, and bring all that passion for as long as there are games to go to and players to be scapegoated. The team would be so much better off if people just stayed home and waited for a team that wins to be put together.

I only care about the name on the front of the jersey.

Honestly if trading makes us a better team long term-see ya later.

If keeping him makes us a better team, then fine.

I dont give a shit about him as a person, or his feelings, or anyone elses.

Earn your paycheck, dont mail it in.

Edit: Bargs, Jose, AP and Joey always seem to give it their all, I say keep them. Fuck the rest.

The problem LX, is that people are entitled to boo. People's hard earned money are going towards paying salaries, so as long as there is no profanity and personal insults, people have a right to bash a player's play, especially if it is subpar. You have to learn to deal with the criticism and let it roll down your back.

I mean, I work with the government, so people immediately equate me as being a lazy fuck - and people have no qualms about telling me that to my face. Even though it's a stereotype, do I care? Nope. Does it affect my work? No, because deep down inside I know I'm a hard worker.

People don't pay to go to the games just to boo. People want the team to play hard and earn their respect. When they put in a half-assed effort like they have the past two games then the fans who pay their hard earned money to attend a game should boo.

Let's trade anyone starting with water boy, mop girl, Raptor mascot and ending up with Jose/JO/CB4. There is so much bullshit on these reports, just to get their reader numbers higher.
Of course the possibility of CB4 leaving is out there, it doesn't cost them anything to speculate around this topic and if it happens, they are big visionaries. I hope BC will do the best for Raptors, with CB4 or without. It is sad to see that Toronto runs the same superstar script over and over again ( if (any Toronto team) has superstar then get rid of him by fans/reporters booing, insulting, acting like they own the team, not supporting them). Toronto have the most ungrateful fans ...

The cloudy air is quickly turning into a thick, suffocating smoke. Watch out for the fire.

Honestly I'd be ok with trading him. If he was locked up till 2012 on his current deal I wouldn't say that. But the double whammy of giving Bosh a 133 mil contract or him leaving outright, makes me feel this isn't a bad move regardless of whether this fire is real. At least doing this, we have control of our future and flexibility, BC has a lot of options.

I mean if you paid Pau Gasol 133 mil you'd be fucked too. He's not as good offensively but his passing skills almost make up the gap to Bosh. And the Shard deal is finally coming to its fruitation for Orlando, they have no backup PG with Nelson out now and no assets to get one, and they won't be able to pay for Hedo this summer. Max contracts for second option types for a team under the lux tax = trouble

There's booing and then there's booing. And I'm sorry, but there is a need to boo here that you don't find elsewhere. Every year there is a guy that gets all the jeers, and people come to games waiting to give it to them no matter what is happening with the game overall. Of course booing in bad games is reasonable. But surely we've seen all kinds of booing in what are some very good games.

So Hoops - imagine yourself working at your hardest and hearing all the stereotypes while you reach over to your coffee cup and take a sip while continuing to type away with one hand. That wouldn't change your attitude?

I think the chorus of boos that everyone expects at certain points, players included, are not what anybody is having a problem with. But getting the kind of jeering that should be directed at the opposing team to throw them off their game makes the ACC look really fucked up. I'd like to say that winning would help change that, but I've been at games where they won where all kinds of disgust was expressed as if they had been victimized by having to witness Jamario shoot a jumpshot or whatever. Eventually that kind of shit leads to just not giving a fuck so much, especially when the season is pretty much over all ready, and there's nothing but a big wave of fan retribution on the horizon, because that sense of entitlement certainly cannot be denied.

Yeah but in terms of effort, heart, and hustle, our team is dead last in the league. If this team doesn't deserve to get booed, who does?

The best think to do is to not buy anymore tickets, specially season tickets for next season. That's probably the only way to make MLSE to focus more on team improvement ... hit them where it hurts, cut the profits.

Where did I say that we shouldn't boo a lack of effort or hustle? They deserve to get booed for that shit. I think I actually said so, and Bosh has said so as well. But booing shit beyond that, like I said - the kind of stuff that should be thrown out there to throw the bad guys off their games - is counterproductive, and is going to eventually lead to a lack of energy. It's not always about what they deserve. From what I've witnessed, it's often an entitlement fans simply give themselves. And hey - they pay their money so...boo a missed freethrow. Yahoo!
