Well, it sucks that CHA and CHI won, but with BRK losing we've basically confirmed homecourt advantage, which is a positive in a bad night overall. Hopefully CHA collapses down the stretch and WAS can get that 6 seed back.

You really think Raptors couldn't beat them in a series?

Even if we can beat a particular opponent, if they cause problems by extending the series and exposing weaknesses, that doesn't help for the next round.

Personally, I feel like the Bobcats are well coached, especially on the defensive end, so I worry it could go 7 even if we beat them. If that happened, it puts us in a more difficult position to have success in the 2nd round. The Bobkittens just feel like a bad matchup, relative to our past games against the Wiz.

When it comes down to it, our sheer talent should pull us out of a series with the Bobcats, but it would be in six or seven rather than four or five like it would likely be against the Wiz.

Personally don't care who we play out of the Wizards or Bobcats, but I would like to play Charlotte just to get back at them for all the games we have been screwed over while playing against them because of horrible refs.

pft. i think the Raptors can take the bobacts. That's one matchup that i'll disregard the season series for when it comes to the playoffs. I agree with scorpion that charlotte and washington are about on par with eachother.

CHA have really good d. I saw this team lose in OT to CHA live at the ACC. Definitely want to see the team take on WAS instead.

Not to get presumptuous but thinking ahead to the second round, Charlotte would prepare this team for a second round series better than Washington would. T

Good point.

I definitely think it's bad to overlook the Cats, who have played us well, but this does sort of make me think back to a couple of matchups for the Raptors where we played a more seasoned team in the playoffs and, despite regular season success, got our asses handed to us. Things just seem to be coming together pretty well for the Raptors right now - injured guys are giving the bench players confidence, and most of our injured guys are coming back into the rotation now.

Vs. the Bobcats, we are more experienced and hopefully hungrier. The Cats are on a nice run right now, and Jefferson is dangerous, but outside of big Al, I like the matchups for us.

I definitely think we can, but it'll be tougher because Clifford is a defensive genius, and Big Al gives us a ton of problems down low.

Also, can a mod change the thread name to CHA vs WAS- Battle for the 6 Seed?

I may have over-exaggerated with yesterdays game being the clincher for the 6 seed.

Anyways, CHA and WAS' remaining schedules:

CHA- Fri 11 @ Boston, Sat 12 vs Philadelphia, Mon 14 @ Atlanta, Wed 16 vs Chicago

WAS-Fri 11 @ Orlando, Sat 12 vs Milwaukee,Mon 14 vs Miami, Wed 16 @ Boston

It could go either way, as both are likely to either 2-2 or 3-1

kemba scares me too. he's a big game kinda guy, and the raps perimeter defence has fallen off a cliff.

If i had to pick a player on Charlotte or Washington who I would be most scared of - it's definitely Walker. I could easily see him leading Charlotte to an upset against Indiana if they end up facing off. He could easily outplay Lowry and Derozan in a series, whereas I see Wall having a big game here and there but in 7 games I think Lowry and Demar would get the better of him and Beal.

I'm definitely most scared of big al. Unless jv plays like a monster every game we have no answer for him. I don't think jv stands a chance, really.

your description of Wall and Beal is how I feel about Walker. Kemba has been really inconsistent this year. He appears to be a Jennings 2.0 overall...like Jennings without some of the stupid shots.

He is a big game player, though, and I could definitely see him having 4 big games in a 7 game stretch.

It's Charlotte's D as a team that worries the most, none of the offensive abilities of their players.

I don't watch enough of the Bobcats to know how inconsistent he might be, he's just been really good in the clutch moments that I've seen. He makes timely plays, and he appears to come by the big-game swagger naturally - whatever that means. Guys like Wall and Derozan are learning and trying to be the man down the stretch - but Kemba just naturally is that guy. Like last night; I only watched the first 5-10 minutes, but he came out and immediately appeared to be the best player on the court - I feel like that is something he can sustain for a series.

Jefferson can be a load to match-up with. He's the train but Kemba is the conductor.

EDIT: I just saw he went 6-21 - no wonder Washington came back. And 0/10 from three against Washington on the 31st. Charlotte still won both.
