You know, I watched that hard knocks series between the Penguins/Capitals in January and Dan Bylsma said something interesting. Something along the lines of if all the analysts actually knew something about the game they'd actually be working in the league...

I think this applies here.

The goal should have been to get some dynamic interesting to watch guard, that will get in a tight nit group with the young players.
So we draft some weak bodied euro center.

FML, I'm close to done with this.

So they're criticizing the Bulls for drafting a player they don't need even though they drafted him for the Heat.

Great analysis.

Yet everyone was blowing a load over NBATV analysts saying Walker should be the Raptors pick and that he could be the best PG in this draft when all is said and done. Anything can apply to any situation when it suites what we need to hear.

that's not even analysis. it's only the short sighted that are concern if he'll be with us during a locked-out season. to be honest, it's a perfect situation consider what the college kids will be doing during their time off.

I don't think that's really addressing my point, but whatever....

----

And again, I could care less what the NBAtv guys really say.....most of them are either fired guys, or really dumb players.

I agree there. It's nice hearing Chris Webber talk glowingly about one of our potential prospects but a scout he is not. Lol

It was actually the capitals GM that made tat comment Claudius, and he was right. We were lucky enough to be at that event last night and I spoke at length with Jack, Sherman and David Amber, they all said the same thing, the PG's available were all hype, the guys we have already are better. Apparently Baylis can kill Knight all day long. So we keep that guy and grab the stiff.

Its just the draft anyway. who cares.

This guy has a boner for Jimmer. I think he's a good player and all, but giving the Kings an A for drafting him when you gave the Cavs a C for drafting Kyrie is crazy.

Toronto Raptors (22-60): Picking Jonas Valanciunas was the perfect move. They may not see him for a year or two, but good to gamble on a guy with a lot of skill.

Jeff Blair also panned the pick in the Globe and Mail this morning.

Whatever. It's a good pick, the guy has a nice game. I've just been reading on DraftExpress how Val has the highest defensive rebounding rate, and highest true shooting percentage, of all the bigs in the draft this year. Against better competition, too.

I agree that he might never be an all star, but he's going to be a solid starter for years to come. Being an all star is more about generating excitement. Though, I think that with his style of play if he can bulk up and start beasting against weaker opponents he'll generate more than a few highlight reel plays.

That's the best grade he gave out, tied with Dallas who traded their pick for Rudy.

This is definitely a polarizing pick.

Everyone seems willing to either say it's a great move, or condemn BC for drafting a sure bust.
