CBS Sports: Raptors Contemplating Offer For David Lee

Doesn't Lee play the 4? the same position Bosh plays? aswell as Bargnani's natural position?

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he would look FANTASTIC beside Bargs! Then grab a ton of talent from another team for Bosh and we'd be good to go

If we're signing David Lee then the writing is on the wall for Chris Bosh. He and Evans would give us an incredible rebounding duo.

Bosh is leaving. I see nothing screwy with this at all. It would probably be a preemptive measure. All rumored Bosh deals included mostly guards and wings, no rebounders.

If Lee signs, we get grittier and I think it sends a pretty clear message we're moving ahead with Andrea.

Also, it gives us a fall back plan if Bosh leaves in 2010.

And while Lee isn't a great defender, he holds his position well and I'd argue is an upgrade defensively over Bosh (marginally). The only downside to Lee is his lack of a polished offensive game.

would you say Lee is like Milsap?
both undersized, grab rebounds, not polished offensivley
I'll say that Milsap is a better defender but someone here might know more about that

Excellent move cap wise. It adds a valuable asset and would still allow us to go after Marion and re-sign all of our own free agents. That's the beauty of a sign and trade, it gives you options capwise.

I'll say that Milsap is a better defender but someone here might know more about that

More athletic and better rebounder than Millsap and can run the fast break style much better. Lee is an allstar in the making.

He's essentially Reggie Evans with offense. Not polished, but he'll still give you double figure points every night.

So if Lee played the 5 in New York, would we rather have Andrea or Lee playing the 5 here? Both options are possible and can be alternated depending on the matchup.

The thing I dont understand about Lee is how is he 6'10", but has never registered more than 29 blocks in one season. I do like his steal totals though.

Lee in Toronto would be bigger than when JYD was here (at his highest popularity). BC knows he's gotta make us fans happy, and David Lee would be the ultimate fan favorite.
if theres one thing we crave out of our players its hustle and hardwork, Lee is the epitome of that.

i would absolutely love this move if it would go down.
IMO, Bosh is as good as gone, if we can get Lee in here to play the 4 (and or 5 depending on where Bargs is more comfortable), then it pretty much solves our rebounding problem.
i'd much rather throw money at lee than at hedo.
grab Lee, sell Bosh for high value... not only do we save money, but we become a better team in the long run.

This is true. But Andrea will get his 2 bpg and if Marion comes back he'll get his 1.5, so as long as Lee can play solid team defense I'm not overly bothered.

Trade Bosh now to N.Y. or let him go next year for free. You can pick up a signed David Lee and signed Nate Robinson, still sign Marion,Parker and Delfino as well as sign a couple of wing/guards (Ariza/Kleiza etc.)with the $7.5 mill exception money. We also would have restocked our asset base significantly and given ourselves many options moving forward.

There aren't many players in the NBA that I would want less than Nate Robinson.

He's still a very valuable trade asset around the league if he's signed. There would be no problem moving him. In the meantime we sure would have a tough, slasher/penetrator for a season to see if he fits. He knows how to take over at the end of a game.

Lee would be really great if all this be realized. Solid, take rebounds and he can exchange his position with Barg even during a game, depending on the opposite defence, creating many mismatches. And he seems to be serious and a hard worker.

If we sign Lee I can possibly see a S&T for him with Lee and some pieces coming and Bosh going to NY or maybe we sign Lee and trade Bosh to another team, but if we sign Lee Bosh has to leave, because there is no point in Lee playing the back-up at 8 mil
