happy mediocrity in other words

I like demar's improvements, but I don't understand why should we be so happy he's average, he has the talent to dominate and he may actually do that in a couple of years.

Also, demar's defense is better this year, but still below average, so there's one reason not to be happy at all. Given his athletic abilities, he really should be a top-notch defender, and he's not.

Yah, I'm happy with average efficiency when Bargnani, Calderon and all the other supposedly untradables on this team are subpar garbage. DD is one of few who's actually earned a place on an NBA team.

Right now our team as a whole is far below average and DD is considered average. He's a step up from the trash around him.

So lets wait 6+ years for another player to become better than average.

Demar has been a lot better this year. The next thing he needs to add is a consistent 3 point shot, which will up his efficiency. Stay away from the one on one pullups, and attack the rim/postup exclusively.

I'm a DD supporter but for the most part this is true. I don't think he's been medicore but he can be even better so I would hope he had not become content with this level of progession.

Right now we have one statistically above average player in Lowry and a bunch of average players in DD, Val, Ed Davis and maybe Amir. Lowry is probably trending to average recently with his poor play due to injury. The rest have been below average to date. Replace below average players with average ones and that's when you'll make the jump into becoming a 7th or 8th seed.

Make the playoffs, gain a winning reputation and things can change.

i will never how raw he was when he get here the first time. Now i see a young player (23), whom is one of the best young sg in this league; and continue every year to progress.
the limit is the sky if every year he continue to improve.

Don't get me wrong, my issue wasn't with Delmar, who I think has improved beyond what the stats are showing, I just didn't get that comment that we should be happy he's average ...

not sure if he's a smarter player, just a more complete player
he seems as smart a player as he was last year, he still drives it into the paint uncontrolled
now he's added the idea of a spinning fadeaway, or driving to the baseline and shoot those fading shot
to me these are not the moves of a smart player, any person can see even from afar that he isn't capable of making those shots probably 80% of the time, which means he's not being smart at all
