Very nice hearing that. He just expressed similar sentiments a little while ago on The Fan 590.

See now this supports my theory about this whole Bosh not signing an extension thing. I dont' believe Bosh wants to leave Toronto. I think he like most young players in the NBA wants to be a star, wants to be the man on his team, call some shots with management and get paid. He's too young to be in the 'play for a ring, damn the money' situation so he'll want to be the main man and he has built that up here.

What he does want and has the influence to do, is get management to build the best team around him possible, while leaving him as the focal point. What he's doing right now, waiting for free agency is just putting pressure on management and ownership while he has the most leverage to do so...to build the best team around him possible.

Once he signs the contact he'll lose a lot of his leverage. If you ask me the plan worked, MLSE brought in Colangelo and he's not been afraid to completely overhaul to put a good team around Bosh.

IMO unless the team is mostly healthy this year and misses the playoffs Bosh will stay. He'd be stupid not to.

I think we've got Bosh for a few seasons then Bargnani is a talented guy and he's still developing but he's not the warrior, the leader that will get after guys and hold guys accountable. I see AB becoming a better offensive player, a better defender and maybe even shot blocker but Bosh has more intangibles.

Bosh hasn't shown himself to be any of those things yet either. Maybe that changes this year? *crosses fingers*

Let's not take Bosh's meaning the wrong way either. He has recognized that he needs to improve his game and be a better leader to get better results team-wise. He has the chance to do that here where he might not elsewhere. Today he said that he is not going to be numbers-oriented at all, but rather looking to do whatever needs to be done to win, so if Bargnani puts up more points while they win under Bosh's leadership, I hardly see a problem.

I think you are right about andrea's attitude, but let's say too that his confidence has never been so high under Mitchell, and everybody saw the difference when Triano stepped in. Plus, he's not using his first language, and let me say (for personal experience) that this is really an issue when talking about being a leader.
So i still give him a chance to show off better "intangibles".

(didn't see the link posted anywhere else)

ESPN is suggesting that he will explore all of his options. I don't see a quote that supports their headline. I wouldn't be worried if he did. He (and his agent) are still business men. I'd interpret it as simple posturing before the negotiations.

Chris Bosh likes Toronto Raptors, but may test free agency - ESPN

Bargs didn't have the balls to step up and be the man on a horrible Italy team.

Sure he has. Bosh is always the most vocal guy on the court...he's called out guys when they've slacked(i.e. AB, Moon). He's the only one on the team doing it. Just listen to any of the players when they're interviewed, this is Chris' team and they all have the respect for him as their locker room leader.

I agree with you... and it wasn't a knock against the guy. He may just not have that personality or it may be a confidence thing that will evolve in time. Either way it ain't happening in the next couple years...and Bosh is already there. To me it's a no brainer. Keep both, but definitely keep Bosh.

Bargs is not a number one option. I doubt that he ever will be. I do think that he has potential to be a great center and perhaps all-star on occasion but I see him as more of a complimentary player than a team leader or "frachise" guy.

Then he will need to start yelling and not be afraid to play the blame game with his supporting cast. I think we have a better line up this season than last's and I hope this newly revamped will not be afraid to step up and take some of that load off Bosh.

lmao, everything Bosh said didn't happen (He didn't get bigger) He just tried to get in better shape, but then he got injured. Fail.

Hope he's traded by the trade deadline for a real player.

So its his fault that he got injured? And he actually did put on weight. I agree with SJ, terrible post.
For all you people thinking Bosh will leave once he sees that Bargnani has taken over, I'm afraid that its highly unlikely to ever happen. The only way I can see Bargnani blossoming to be a Dirk-like (#1 option) player is if he's the number 1 option on the court, on a nightly basis.

Did Bosh really say he wants to be #1 ? I think for us to win and make the playoffs Bosh will have to be a big part but not #1. I think we need guys like Jose , Hedo and Bargs to be and play as big a part as Bosh.
