Cavs Cavs Coming After Bosh Come 2010?

Caught this from a guy at the RealGM that heard this last night.

Dan Gilbert: "Yeah. I sure do. But if I was in Miami, and if I was Toronto, and if I was Denver, I'd be really worried about the Cleveland Cavaliers' cap space in the summer of 2010, because we're coming after their guys."

I honestly cant see Wade, Bosh, Melo, etc changing teams.

They are the big guns, franchise players, and they will allow for the team to be built around them.

I can see teams, instead of going after someone like Wade, Melo, Bron, Kobe, going after multiple guys not getting the big attention like Ginolbli, Stephen Jackson, J-Ho, Tyson Chandler, Johnson, Jefferson,Miller, Peja, Nash, Amare, Outlaw, Salmons.

Ta=eams would be dumb to put all eggs in one basket...I would love the Raps to grab JJ, but if they could get Josh Howard and Miller, we would be a better team in the long run.

Jose
Miller
Howard

Why wouldn't they? I expect a lot of teams will be making a pitch.

If Lebron doesn't resign, they're fucked. Who the hell wants to play in Cleveland? In regards to Bosh, he's not only the face of the Raptors, but he's the face of basketball in Canada (not speaking in terms of national team, of course). Cleveland is America's Armpit.

I expect though that you'll see a lot of European teams in the mix throwing around Monopoly kind of cash.

Alot of teams ie New York,LA will be but alot would be better off, noing they are not gonna get them, spending money on multiple other in a hurry.(BC trademark)

1st day of Free agency offer 10-12 for JHO and Miller.(not many teams will be looking at them first off) then spend some on roll players, any team would be better with 2 tier 2 players added to the mix as opposed to 1 of Wade or Bron.

If Kobe goes to Europe, you'll see Jerry Buss push hard after Lebron.. and they'll probably get him - build around Bynum and Lebron. Sick.

stern is no dummy.
he sees whats happening in the world of basketball and isnt going to let his players bolt for europe.
before 2010, i guarentee he proposes some sort of team bonus or signing bonus for players... maybe even doing a 'franchise tag' sort of thing (like in NFL).
which means teams will have even more money to spend - which means more movement and bigger deals.
forget about the lebrons, melo's, wade's and bosh's....by 2010 - no one will be safe.

I do not see the big names of '03 draft changing teams in 2010 unless it's to go play in NY. Big endorsement opportunities.

Bosh will definately re-sign with the raptors. If he did it when we sucked. He will do it now. Also teams should be scared of our cap space after we unload JO's salary next season

Why would Bosh go to Cavs if LBJ leaves them? That's more like a wishful dream for Dan Gilbert. CB4 will leave Raptors for low profile teams only if he gets upset with Raptors management and I don't see this unless Colangelo leaves Raptors in meantime. But I can see Bosh thinking about teams like NY, LAL or Mavs!

Bosh, I really cant see going.

Team is gonna have tons of cap to hire some guns to join him.
Jose and Bargs will be under contract.
He would still have to Opt out

once LBJ is gone... cleveland will be in a world of pain.
its true what insight said... who the hell would want to go to cleveland if LBJ is gone... what is their selling point? "armpit of the United States" hahahaha, good call hoops.
and its true, they have nothing to offer.
come one, come all... come be LBJ's replacement.

I wouldnt assume anything in the world of sports. If the Raptors dont show Chris in this next couple of years that they are serious contenders, he may well bolt, who knows. I really think Chris would be much better served being the 2nd scoring option on a team with a little less responcibility and pressure.

Bosh getting attention in 2010 would be no surprise to anyone! He'll probably have 15 teams wanting to take a run at him.

He had plenty of teams wanting to take a run at him last time. The fact is that outside of the kinds of endorsements on the side that Mike brought up, players getting max money get more max money by staying put, and almost always do so. The only real concern with many players - is when they sign and then eventually demand out.
