how come coaches don't give epic speeches in game like in the movies? Im sure it would hype up the players

I feel like if this thread was posted four or five months ago, everyone would be up in arms over Casey coming back. He's definitely had a good season since the Gay trade, but I think we shouldn't forget a lot of the bonehead decisions he made in the two seasons before that.

I'll be indifferent if he re signs, but would like to think Masai will consider other options out there first.

first, how do you know it's not casey making all the right choices, and the assistants reponsible for his mistakes? I remember having similar conversations about BC, where everything he was doing well was because he had a good staff, but somehow he was only responsible for the mistakes ...

and second, who cares? As long as the end product is good, it makes no difference whether it's casey or bayno or nurse who had the right idea. At least it shows casey is willing to listen, and he can learn from it. It's not like basketball is some kind of rocket science.

The entire coaching staff looks pretty good to me. I like how they all interact and bring something to the whole. Casey did not necessarily need growth. He needed the opportunity to institute and manage a solid program for the growth of the team for the long term. As long as he and Masai have a good working relationship then i don't think there is anything to consider.

Onward and upward.

I'd rather we move in a different direction. Casey doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes or the things that he does that work. He rarely makes successful in game adjustments and may be the worst when it comes to managing his bench. I find him so frustrating and often wonder if he's even watching the game.
What I can't deny though is that he's got the team playing hard and has built a great team environment.

I feel as if Casey was the right guy to get this team a new identity, and culture, while they were going through the growing pains of re-building. But I feel as if this team, if it wants to compete, and keeps on adding talent and making the right moves, we need a different coach. A coach with more tactical nouse to add on to the culture already established here. I don't want someone to come in who doesn't fit in with the fight hard, work hard, grind it out style we've adapted to, but someone to add to it.

For now though, Casey can stay and try to prove his worth. This series will say a lot about him.

I still think it depends if the team likes him. Do they want him, do they have confidence in him. MU would knopw but we never will. I think its safe to say its doubtful he's lost the team though.
