Reading a few of the comments here I would have expected something quite different.

What did he do wrong this time?

How many of you guys even played sports on an organized team? I mean, I really dislike the "I played ball" card that gets used by some posters, but it's like some of you don't seem to get that a loss of confidence and sporadic minutes can make someone look worse than they are. It applies to all levels, not just pros. I guess this is annoying me more this year because Bargnani, Davis and Demar all had consistent minutes during their rookie years, so their situations were different. It wasn't as big of a factor in discussions about them.
I can only speak to my comments ... my views are based on watching both JV and Ross this season. Both rookies and lots to learn ...

Which one of those is a spot up guy? Johnson maybe?
Well, he can guard a spot up guy, or a guy that doesnt do anything on offence, which basically describes Johnson and Tucker. Johnson is a horrible shooter(and player) and has no ball skills so JV could give him a cushion and if the Suns went to that matchup the Raptors would welcome it, and Tucker is not an offensive player. JV could easily guard either one.

We will never give up JV for a good player. The only way we would trade him is if we'd get a star player in return. Which in my opinion is impossible.

Second thing, stop insulting me. How many times do I need to tell you that I've been a Raptor's fan longer than you think. Sure, I came to this forum when Kleiza was signed, but that's just a coincidence. Do you see me writing poems about how I love JV? For me he is just another rookie on this team. It's also a coincidence that JV is my second favourite player on this team (#1 Amir).

As i said a few times already, Toronto is the only basketball club I truly support. So stop acting like every single Lithuanian will be gone if we trade JV.

I saw only one report from one source that suggested Ross was asked for in the deal, and that source did not indicate that it was as a replacement for Ed. I imagine the Grizz were asking for both Ross and Ed, since Ed and Jose were reported very early on (and consistently throughout) and the Ross bit leaked later.

Casey is such a hypocrite it is not even funny. So more playing time for Ross and JV? Ross, 0 minutes, and JV, even while killing and frustrating Howard on pick and roll and being very very effective plays 17 min and is benched in favor for Gray? I have no words to describe how pathetic Casey is.

Ross had a good game in PHX,for his confidence. The next game getting 0 minutes is puzzling.

Anderson chucking 10 shots in 20 minutes is even more puzzling.

The sad part is that I cringe less when Anderson shoots vs Rudy.

If Rudy some how starts to chuck less and penetrate more to basket and learn to kick it out ... we may even have a chance to be a decent team.

At least Rudy plays hard on D and has some handles. He makes us better late in games.

Bargs could of been our official accepted chucker if he played hard ....

These rooks need more consistent minutes if this team is ever going to amount to anything in the future. And I also agree with cutting AA's minutes and get LF more playing time as well since he's here for the long haul, might as well try to build chemistry to play this season out

Including Ross in the deal instead of Ed isn't so bad after thinking about it.

Lowry/Telfair/Lucas
DeMar/Fields
Gay/Anderson
Davis/Bargs
Jonas/Amir

Solid at every position, while not worrying about having to play Ross instead of DeMar and Gay. Only downfall is our shooting would be horrible on the wings, but Ross hasn't hit a shot since the all-star break anyway.

While Memphis

Conley
Allen/Ross
Prince
Randolph/Arthur
Gasol

They would get their 2 guard of the future while not having that log jam at the four spot anymore. Just don't think they wanted him so bad.
