It goes a little beyond that. He plays guys who are playing their roles properly.

Indeed. And I for one don't want to see him compromise that message just because there's some chance someone could pull a muscle. Like people said, the wins don't matter this year. But the culture does, and a winning attitude and approach is important to instill however they can - including keeping the best performing players in the game as much as possible.

Winning in Phoenix and Utah back to back is huge... way more important than tank nation.

Because he is a young and emerging star, and the teams best player. Thats why.

It kinda helps that Carlisle had Dirk, Terry, Tyson Chandler, Kidd, Marion, and JJ Barea to sub around. Apples to oranges - they had a much better team. Bargs is at 36 mins per game this year. You know where that puts him on the list of minutes per game? 24th, tied with Brandon Jennings. Nothing exceptional in terms of minutes.

Yet we show absolutely no signs at all of that kind of flow this year when Andrea's on the bench or not playing. The piss poor offensive execution in so many games this past month is inexcusable; no other way around it, and it points straight at Casey
Points per game is an almost meaningless stat when taken out of context. A much better indicator of team success is point differential. Last year we were at -6.6ppg, this year we're at a similarly shitty -6.2. If anything, that shows tangible improvement given that Bargs has been out for so long and our offense is putrid without him.

Plus it's pretty hard to pass sweeping judgements on a coach (Casey) who's in his first year at the helm of this team and had little to no preseason to speak of. All in all, I think he's done rather well given the injuries.

Jose is our starting PG. He's playing 34 mins per game. If he can't keep up with a reasonable workload for a starting NBA point guard then it's better to figure that out now so we can seek a replacement. Don't forget that Jose has had hamstring injuries in 3 previous seasons. I'm actually surprised it hasn't been a problem yet. Jose's former teammate, Jarrett Jack is getting 38 mins per game in New Orleans and carrying an even heavier burden. If Jose can't be durable at 30-35 mins per game, then the sooner we realize that, the better.

That is one of my legitimate concerns as well. We do need to improve our ability to pick our spots and leak out on a fast break when we get stops. Good point.

It's not the coach's fault Rasual Butler is shooting like shit. The "Rasual Butler is a good shooter" myth needs to stop. His percentages have been dropping like a stone the past few years, and he's a career 39.9% shooter from the field. Yes he's a solid 36% from beyond the arc - those are wide open shots created for him by Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul, and being on a team with Blake Griffin. Discounting Butler's 6 game, 4.3 minute per game Chicago stint last year, he shot 32.3% from the field, 32.6% from 3 (great shooter, eh?). The year before that, 41% from the field, 33.6% from 3. Before that, 43% from the field, 39% from 3. The year before that, 35% from the field, 33% from 3. He is NOT a "great shooter"!

DeMar's handle is mediocre. You can tell just how much respect defenders give him when one of his few big plays vs Utah was because he shockingly blew past his defender by going left baseline and taking 3 consecutive dribbles with his left hand. His handle isn't as bad as some people make it out to be, but it's certainly not exceptional, especially for a 2 guard. For a 3, you could say he's mobile. For a 2, he's below average in handles; he can't change direction and has little to no ability to cross over.

No excuse for 62 points vs the 76ers? No shit! How many seasons of NBA have you watched? There's always about 10 games that a team sucks in, no matter what happens, and 10 games where they seemingly can't miss. We've played 19 games so far. 1 or 2 stinkers isn't that out of the ordinary.
