Happens all the time with Casey. Worst coach in the NBA at working officials.
What did he say to him?

I've been recording communications between coaches and officials. Recording positive, and negative communications, and then correlating that to fouls & violations called as well as calls reversed, and calls reversed directly after communication between a coach and a official.

Casey came last.

Or maybe it's just my opinion from watching the games. I think there are quite a few officials who genuinely dislike Adelman, I would put him near the bottom with Casey.

Well that makes sense since adelman is generally regarded as a coach that should only be an assistant.

So? Adelman is a hall of fame coach. Your concentrating at a very small part of the game.

not sure if people are trolling in this thread or not, but some of you CANT BE SERIOUS... I mean we have overacheived big time with our roster. we will likely tie or pass the win total of last year in a condensed season!! Casey has created a competitive culture and defined players into their proper roles....

And the lack of offense might have to do with the fact we have THREE D LEAGUERS on the team, bayless and Bargs injured for bunch of season, missing barbosa via trade for 20 games or so down the stretch, hell even missing sonny weems who was able to contribute offensivley at times last season......so you guys seriously going to blame casey for lack of offense?!?!?!

also since we are better defensively, we hold the opponents longer into the shot lock rather than quick easy looks.....simple math says longer the opponents hold the ball, fewer the opportunities we get to score on the other end.....maybe that might play into the lack of scoring a bit along with condensed season patterns that majority of teams possess and also that we are not as impatient and willing to run and gun it as we were last year

im sorry but the premise of this thread is ridiculous

Was my entire premise simply a lack of offence?

Not only do we not have much offensive talent/guys who can execute but Casey has slowed the pace to near league-slowest complement the defensive orientation of the team. Thus, we have fewer possessions to work with and fewer points.

We don't execute well in the halfcourt because we have nobody who can really penetrate with ease nor do we have excellent long-range shooting.

I don't have a problem with it.

A coach is suppose to give his players open makable shots. The players are suppose to put them in. Time and time again, these players miss wide open shots. Our talent level is low. And our creativity level is zero.

Casey knew this was a throwaway year, yet he is producing results.

Conclusion. You have jumped too soon.

Last year: 105.9 ORTG (21st), 112.7 DRTG (30th)
This year: 101.5 ORTG (24th), 105.2 DRTG (16th)

Seriously. Look at the rankings rather than the raw numbers to take the lockout effect out. Dropped 3 spots in ORTG in the last year, and jumped 14 spots in DRTG.

How is this even a discussion?

Right now, I see the Blazers interim head coach Kaleb Canales running the offense, and Asst. coach Bob Ociepka running the defense. Like football I guess, except Bob doesn't bark orders on defense. Nobody barks orders on defense. Coach K just stands there with a serious and focused look on his face.

Only have like 1 Head Coach's chair, but make it have arm rests so it's easy to jump in and out of, then have the coaches switch whenever the ball changes possession?

i'd be very happy if casey was our assistant and someone like rick carlisle was our head coach, but we're not that lucky of a team to have an experienced head coach come here.

i like dwanye a lot, i like how he's changing the philosophy of our locker room

but the infamous but

his rotations suck, the way he extends the bench sucks and his demeanour when talking to the officials, like mentioned, sucks.

casey's a hard dude, i like that about him, but i hope that he's not too stubborn to realize that he needs to make some serious changes about his coaching outside of the practice area if he wants to remain a head coach in the league.

I have no Ideal..
considering how bad we are, and still the team plays with effort, that's enough for me..

you want players to respond to the coach.. and the raptor players are doing that.

some people are never satisfied

The team lacks talent. Almost every game, were putting an inferior team against the competition. Don't judge the driver of Nascar car in Formula One Race. When this team puts talent on the floor, make the judgement on the coach. From the stats mentioned, the coach is making a difference

A sizeable one at that imo. He came into the season stating that defense was the number one priority and if we had any chance at future success it has to start there. And looking at our respectable defensive numbers he's accomplished his main goal. He also holds people accountable. During this season he's sat/benched pretty much everyone of any significance on this team including Bargnani & Derozan for not putting in the effort. And the players have responded. This team is in a better position then it was 6 months ago and that's all that matters right now. He will truly be evaluated a year from now when he's had a full season to work with hopefully better talent.
