I am just watching the game in an hour now. The game was very well-coached. I'm very excited to see what this guy can do with a few more pieces.
I find it interesting that he has not been hindered by a bit of a shitty situation having last season's coach looking over his shoulder. He has no problem referring to problems from last year. I guess maybe Jay deserves some credit for allowing that freedom. |

I'm not sure quite how I'm supposed to respond to this. Next time maybe add a few grunts.
I guess you're wondering how Jay could possibly deserve any credit. He very well could have talked to DC and told him that he would not take any criticisms personally, and that he shouldn't worry at all about saying the wrong thing. |

They obviously talked extensively. I see no chance that they didn't. And who knows what subjects they touched or didn't touch.
Imo, given JT personality and overall professionalism, it's more likely than not that he encouraged Casey in every respect during their conversations over the summer and preseason. |

The thing I liked most in yesterdays rotation was benchung of Derozan. He actually missed his assigment two times that ended up in AP corner threes. So he's benched.
But not Smitch kind of doghouse benching either, he is stilil on the court when it matters |

I might be in the minority here but I don't like Dwane Casey's rotations. It just happened to workout good because it was Cleveland, obviously were looking amazing. I don't like this Ed Davis strictly four and Bargs the same thing because it means they can never be on the court together at the same time. Ed Davis played so good yesterday and got benched in the fourth. Don't get me wrong because Bargs and Amir also played good but not as well as Ed, he only played 18 minutes and put in work. It should have been Ed and Bargs in that last quarter.
Calderon and Derozan is not a good combination. Calderon makes all wings essentially spot up shooters, thats why Hedo was beyond shit here, and he does it with Demar. Shooting is not Demar's strong point, so he's going to struggle. And if you watch whenever he gets the ball, he's anxious to do something because he's probably not getting it back. He has trouble creating his own shot and Calderon doesn't help that because all he does is essentially pick and roll. Bayless with Demar is a better combination because Bayless gets in the lane and opens up the floor. Drive and dish to Demar, like late last year is deadly. But whenever Bayless was subbed he played with Barbosa, which is redunant on this team because Barbosa can create his own shot and doesn't need Bayless to do so for him. Calderon and Barbosa would be a better combination because then Barbosa can create for himself when the offense is so stagenite as it often is with Calderon. The entire second unit would be better with Calderon for that matter. Butler should not start, if he could actually shoot I suppose I see why, but JJ is a ridicoulous defeneder and on the starting unit, he doesn't need to be a scorer like on the second unit.
