Casey looking for Derozan to be facilitator in PnR

Casey said DeRozan also will be utilized in the pick-and-roll more than in the past, but this time as the ball-handler looking to find good shots for players like John Lucas III, Calderon, Terrence Ross, or Lowry, who has shot 37.5% from three-point range over the past two seasons.

That could be very interesting...

This will lead to 2+ TOPG. I don't foresee this ending well...

well, derozan has been looking pretty smart offensively.

Good, its about time we give DeRozan a chance to do more things. Hes played the same way for 3 years & I think he can do so much more.

I thought his ball handling looked very much improved in the three preseason games, if Casey is thinking of that strategy, it must be real, obviously he's seeing demar day in and day out.

I've always thought his ball handling is far more important that his 3pt shooting, so this makes me quite happy - I think he could have a pretty good year.

Completely agree... he'll never be a great three point gunner, but if he can improve his handling, he could be a physical beast on other two guards.

Im not sure what people are seeing, I think he's been very solid so far. I like his game thus far

Derozan...he just seems more assertive, you're hearing his name more

Derozan....

i'm still not liking his handles and his shot
he dribbles left and right crosses over and over again with no real faking
he tries the MJ turnaround fadeaway way too much considering he can't hit them most of the time, i wouldn't be bothered if he was close most of the time, but this guy air balls them probably 50% of the time
but of course this guy needs to be a facilitator in the PnR, if that is to be our main offensive play and this guy is supposed to be 1 of our main offensive weapons then he has to be a facilitator whether he wants to or not
a good PnR is only good if both involved are a danger to shoot and pass, if they were only 1 or the other then it wouldn't be much of a play
