when your 4-14 there is going to be allot of things to criticize.. I am one of those fans that wants to see Bargnanni out, but if he was playing like he did last year for the short stretch... then it would be a different story. I think fans are very frustrated with his game... he takes low percentage shots, to many times do you see Bargnanni putting up bad jumpers while Jonas is the only Raptors big down low surrounded by three jerseys from the opposing team..

he actually started off good in Denver.. taking mid range jumpers etc, but not consistent enough.. he plays like a 3, WE NEED HIM IN THE PAINT

he mixed up his game so well last year.. was such a hard cover, took more mid range jumpers.. posted up.. took the 3 when the defender didn't want to come out to contest his shot..

if we ain't going to trade him, I hope that Bargs comes back

Casey wants him operating at the perimeter 3. He said this in training camp, and he said in a recent article about his "random" offence.

He should be operating at the lowpost more though, not sure why Casey doesn't agree.

Yea I agree as well, what is the point of that weight he put on if not for this?

I never had a problem with AB taking wide open 3s, which at 7ft includes 3s vs most defenders. I'd let him take as many as his heart desires in 12-15 mins off the bench.
But you can't start him and let the other team get going offensively. It's so obvious, it's almost not worth typing.
It's hard to picture offense without AB, because we haven't seen it for any palpable stretch. Give us 6 games with AB coming in off the bench, and I believe we'll see offensive cohesion in the first unit.

Bargs' stats when we lose (13 games): 35.8 MPG/19.7 PPG/5.1 RPG/4.5 APG/43.2% FG
Bargs' stats when we win (4 games): 30 MPG/9.8 PPG/2.5 RPG/0.8 APG/28.8 FG%

We play better when he's on the bench...he's bringing this team down

Explain the Detroit, Philly and Charlotte games on that road trip. Should have won all 3, and Bargnani played well in those games. We lost all 3 by less than 10 points combined

It's called trading baskets - the theme of this season thus far when this team has "played well". It doesn't bring about too many wins.

Someone please tell me... If Pietrus or Jose shoots 35%- 40% from 3 and pass better, how is either of them not the hub that speads the floor. Tell me. Because i don't see anything else that Bargs does to spread the floor and I don't see him passing out of doubles every minute. Someone explain it to me.

Sign... two - ends - to - the - floor. No rebounding either. I would bet if you look we were out-rebounded every one of those games and we gave up over 100.

Thanks.

Someone should start a "bring back the real Casey" thread. It's definitely not the same guy who managed to turn the team into one of the better defensive teams in the league. I really don't know what happened.

This whole situation with Bargnani is like the emperor's new clothes. Everyone can see Bargnani hurts us on the floor but everyone, in this case the Raptors organization, keeps telling us everything is fine and he's a great player. Maybe at some point one of his teammates will blow up at him and make an issue. I dunno what it will take.

If Colon-jello has Casey convincingly sipping the high-collared kool-aid on Bargnani, then imagine ownership types. this team is fucked.

Maybe JJ did last season.
Had they not been preaching Pound the rock, D, people wouldn't have reasons to question accountability.
They should've said: Our main focus is to accommodate our valued players, then we go from there. Will this bring us success, not sure. Will this keep the values of our players high and make us ever flexible, you bet ya!

You asked for it

106-98 loss in Philly (We outrebounded Philly)

98-97 Loss in Charlotte (tied in offensive rebounds, 1 defensive rebound less)

91-90 Loss in Detroit (were outrebounded both offensively and defensively, despite holding them to 91 points)

“We are going to go the way Andrea goes offensively,” Casey said. “[With Bargnani,] we are a different team. We spread the floor. The floor is spaced. DeMar has more space to operate. [Bargnani] is the hub, the core. He is the guy everything kind of revolves around. If he is active engaged and productive, not only at the offensive end, but on the defensive end, we are a different team.”

OY! Load of horse poop left in the noon sun in July!

Does coach actually watch what happens on the floor. It's not the floor that's spread, it's Bargnani that's spaced.

I think the only things that are spread, are the fans' assholes because they've have had to watch Bargnani play for 7 years.

There's 4 pages of finger pointing but no real solutions. What do you think we could realistically get for Bargs that would make it worth not having him? that is, if we expect to get a bordering all-star player for him. If you think we are a better team without him at all, thasss craaaazy.

No I really think we are better with him on the bench. If we got zero for him I think we are better because better players get to play. You ask me... the kind words from Casey mean they are trying to trade him. Because he should be ripping him a new ass.
