Default Can Pete Newell save Bargnani?

Looks like Sam is sending Andrea to see Pete Newell this summer.

Pretty good idea.
First off, here's a little history of Newell's poplular big man camp.

After Washington's game rapidly improved, more and more big men started to work with Newell and he later opened the camp. The camp's impressive participants list features over 200 current and former NBA players.[5] Newell has attracted this list of players due to his reputation of teaching footwork, being what one publication described as "The Footwork Master".[3] Former attendants include Shaquille O'Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, Bill Walton, and many others.[5] The camp is almost seen as standard for players coming out of college into the NBA; according to ESPN's Ric Bucher, "[ [f]or the past 24 years, every big man of any significance has spent at least one summer week trying to get close enough to Pete.".[2] Since Newell opened the camp in 1976 he has not accepted any money for his services, instead he has donated his time feeling that as he states, "I owe it to the game. I can never repay what the game has given me."[6] The camp has taken place in Honolulu, Hawaii and most recently Las Vegas, Nevada.
Anyhow, thoughts guys?

sure it's a step in the right direction.

Any kind of specialized help/coaching Bargnani can receive would only be a good thing.
'cause whatever he's being taught now sure ain't working!

Does the guy who was going to be an all-star this year and the best big man on the team really need remedial big man school?

Yes, but only to compensate for the ineptitude of our current coaching staff.

Your both nuts to think that Bargs confidence has nothing to do with the way Sam is treating him. He is not Hoffa, stop it.

Hoffa NEVER had skills.

Bargs was fine last year, we need to ask ourselves "what changed"

Hell Bargs was great at the begining of this year, he got hurt, and since than has been on a short leash.

Sam's "he just needs to work hard and get better" routine is old, he WAS better...what happened?

Get him a shrink, get him a big man coach...dont just sit there and say "he needs to get better".

1. Hoffa's issues were in his head. But no need to bring that up again.
2. What's changed is that other teams know about Bargnani and aren't giving him anything like they did last year... and he's not adjusting to the new position very well at all so his confidence has gone away and it just hasn't come back.
3. If you believe that what Sam says to the media is what's really on his mind you're pretty naive Sam hates the media and feeds them his canned responses every day and that's not going to change, nor is it a true reflection of his views on the team. I dont' know what he's done to help Andrea get better but i will bet serious money it's more than just jaw off to the media.

1. Wrong, Hoffa's issues was not having skill

2. So bring him back off the bench at PF...till he gets his groove back..no problem there.

3. RIght so we don't know what Sam has done or is doing, we do know Its not working.

1. He was a top player in college and projected top 14 in the draft.. he had skill, he just couldn't get his head into the nba game.

2. I'm cool with that...although it doesn't help turn him into a center which seems to be Colangelo's vision. Off the bench definitely though..Rasho should be starting.

3. Again you can't put all or even the majority of the blame on the coach.. you have to give accountability to the player.

1. Ummm he was projected top 14. By who?

2. K agreed.

3. As long as we agree he deserves none of the credit, for players , like Bosh, T.J, Hump, etc...Than we can agree on that too, can't have it both ways.
