Default Can Demar back it up?

First I would like to show you a cool article about demar talking about the dunk off and dunk contest, previous entries, etc.
Quote:
There is no lack of self-confidence in DeMar DeRozan.

Given an opportunity to earn himself a spot in the dunk contest as part of the NBA's all-star weekend festivities, the Raptors rookie guard plans to draw on past experience.

And win.

Not just a dunk-off to get into the contest, but the whole thing.

"Ever since I was in the eighth or ninth grade, every dunk contest I did, I never lost," DeRozan said in a telephone interview Thursday. "In the ninth grade, I was in one with Mike Beasley and Gerald Henderson and won. I always feel confident, I like pulling things off."

The 6-foot-7 20-year-old has even suggested on his website he could win a dunk contest that included dunk icon Michael Jordan.
I dont know If I believe that but I really have a good feeling that this kid can back up all this talk.

What do you guys think? Do you think he can back it up and win it all?

I think that Demar will win his spot into the dunk contest. The problem though will be being able to come up with enough original dunks to win the real deal. He'll likely be at a disadvantage since he's going to have to use up some dunks just to get himself into the competition.

He'll get into the contest.

but as we have seen, winning the contest has been more about your name in recent years. This will hold him back.

If he beats Gordon i'll be happy. As for if/when he makes it to the contest, he better have some sweet props because that seems to be what gets you points these days.

Lebron isn't in the dunk contest so the last option is impossible.

It was confirmed a few days ago that Dwight & LBJ will not be in the contest.

I know he should beat Gordon. But if you remember Dwight's first slam dunk competition he lost yet, his first round dunk was amazing.

The dunk contest is all fucked up nowadays, the crown means nothing it's just for ratings

I mean, Dwight Howard didn't even dunk that one last year and still got crazy high scores for it (threw the ball in, never touched the rim)

Hopefully Demar go through!!
but as a side note- in the recent times after Vince, I have yet to see anyone actually being acrobatic during the in game dunks. Its all been just one handed dunks, kinda get's old after awhile. I rarely see the windmil, 360's etc anymore during fastbreaks.

This young man is very confident in his dunking skills.

I believe they are told to hype up the event much like boxers do.

Remember the J. Moon pre contest vid? It never happened but all were glued to their sets.
