i will boycott making commercial purchases as part of it, that's for sure. but you already know that the bait you are trying to lay for me is filled with nonsense, so i won't push this any farther.

I don't see him holding anything.

'trane 11-08-2012 09:36 PM

haha

dfunkie1 11-08-2012 09:39 PM

supporting charities for vets is nonsense? i won't push it any further, you already have my respect. i hope you found a poppy to wear since you won't purchase one.

'trane 11-08-2012 09:51 PM

i don't wear a poppy. i give a lot to charity in other ways. the support our troops stuff has turned into a rallying cry for all the wrong reasons. one can support combatants, oppose the military action, give money to veterans, criticize decision-makers and refuse to commercialize patriotism all at the same time. unfortunately this little show of commercially patriotic military support doesn't allow for nuance or dissent.

Landry Fields should donate his salary to a worth cause.

do you generally keep track of which appropriate ribbon to be wearing throughout the year as well?

dfunkie1 11-08-2012 11:12 PM

i actually buy the rubberbands, and participate in the charitable events such as the breast cancer run, terry fox run, growing of moustaches. it's not beyond me to partake in commercial purchase for rally cries for the people/research in need.

do you generally spit in the direction of the world war vets selling poppies, or just raise your nose at them as you walk by?

Carlos Danger 11-08-2012 11:32 PM

Ugly as sin

jeffb 11-08-2012 11:33 PM
