Default Call me crazy...

i honestly think that Bargnani is one day going to be better than Bosh and become like dirk. think about it... yeah ok, i know he's only played good for like 13-14 games but unlike bosh, Bargs always does better than Bosh against really good teams (like the celtic game).

here, i'll lay it out;

bargs....

shoots better from everywhere (including ft and you gotta love that pump fake),
is bigger,
imo a better defender and shot blocker (does a good job of clogging the lane),
is quicker and faster, and
is stronger

to become better than bosh;

bargs needs to rebound like him,
become more aggresive (especially taking it in which he is doing a lot lately, but should do it more often), and
become more vocal (become more of a leader, looks lazy and careless at times)

he is already more than halfway there

Dirk is just too special a player... Bargs may be a 20ppg guy, but I don't know if he can become Dirk.

of course not completely like him, dirk is a HOFer, but i meant to say dirk-like, but do u see him becoming better than bosh...cause i do, Bosh isn't even a franchise player and is inconsistent at times. Bargs hasn't scored 20+ like 3 out of the last 13 starts

Bargs can become a really good player that can be the second option on a champoinship team

I am having trouble understanding what a first option and second option means?
Bosh is not the player you want to go when you need a basket with few seconds to go. But he is that kind of player to get your team to that point when you need just one basket to win. To call a guy a "first option" just because he can manufacture a late game basket is kind of unfair. Raptors had that kind of player in Vince Carter but he quit because he didn't had too many chances to close games as he was the one to carry the team and close the game. What Raptors need is a CB4 to get the team a chance to win and a Vince Carter to close the games. Who is the first option? Both ... depends on when you need them.

Bargs is a lot more like Okur right now than he is Dirk. And its going to take at least 3 offseasons working on his footwork and faceup moves to come close to being as special as Dirk.

I'd like to know how Bargs' work ethic and practice determination is... I've heard good things, but Dirk's is on a level only matched by like MJ

look don't get me wrong, i love Bosh and i agree with everything you said, but by first option i meant players like; dwade, kobe, lebron, dirk, KG, timmy, CP3, nash, and even billups because of his leadership and understanding of the game and not to mention his big shots.

sure Bosh can get you close to winning a game, but those guys will actually always get the job done.

I think if Bargs ever reached those Okur numbers everyone would be fully pleased with his development.

I think hoping for Dirk like production is too high expectations for what hes shown so far IMO. I dont think he has the footwork to become as good as Dirk.

Bosh has to face way more defensive attention than Bargs. He sucks at the end of games because they know the balls coming to him so they clamp down on him.

Bargnani has shown me nothing to show he can handle being a pure #1 guy like the ones you listed. Before this last month he was one of the most mentally demolished and confidence lacking young prospects I've ever seen... he shot like 33% in December, don't forget. If it took him 3 years to figure out how to handle the pressure of starting and being a #1 pick, I'm really not confident he can handle being a franchise leader.

I'm not 100% sold on Bargs yet btw, I'm almost there but after what he put us through a couple weeks isn't enough yet. Look up Andrew Bogut's stats around last January, he had an "awakening" almost identical to this run, but he's still putting up 11.5ppg this year. Granted he's been very good defensively and I'd consider getting him for Bargs, I think he's still not getting the right touches

well thjriller is right, his footwork needs some....er...work, but thats just comfort, a bit of technique, and th will to do it.

Bargnani has the will, and the talent. He's gonnabe fine.

Hell he was isolated agianst both Gordon and Rose last night at different points in the game at the top of the key all alone and managed to stay in front of them. He's a 7 foot center for crying out loud, a 23 year old one.

Thats a very promising sight if you ask me.

None of us can read the future, but if he continues as is, his will need shades.

He's at them now. 20 games is enough for me.

that's not wat i meant, i never said Bargs is gonna ever be a first option, i meant that Bosh isn't nor do i ever see him being one, so it isn't so crazy to say that Bargs will be better than him one day.

Until AB can go to the rack and finish or draw fouls, he is nowhere near being better then Bosh.
