Did you get this same message, and if yes, what did you do?
No, I didn't get this message. But if you have Adobe on your PC, I don't know why there would be a problem in viewing.

If anything, "we" have to take ownership of this team more than most franchises because we get the short end of the stick in coverage, respect, road team attendance, players packing their bags at the first opportunity, jokes about going north as a player from a U.S. city and bringing a parka....

It's like getting punched in the mouth over and over. Stand up and be counted. I'm all for "we". You want apathy, look at the Blue Jays. How's that working out? Only 30 cities in the world are so far worthy of franchises. Own it! Us against the world, Baby.

So Us against the World is not accurate.
Lets say Us against Them. Little rivalry wont hurt anybody. However if you try to go against the world, you ll lose a lot of support and be confined within the borders of that particular city. I bet Toronto is more than that. And I bet the franchise has been doing what it has been doing solely for that purpose. I mean drafting and acquring many foreign players. If you want your players to call toronto as "Us" long after they retire, you ll have to think in terms of basketball, not in terms of World and Us. by the way I know where you are coming from, I just think it s kind of allianating to use the the term us against the Wolrd.
Pardon my French please.
Oh, "us against the world" did not refer to the city of Toronto. I would not have used that if it were, say the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club. They feel they are the pinnacle whether they win or not and they have more than their share of respect and coverage. I was referring specifically to the to the Toronto Raptors basketball club. And that includes the Euro players that Toronto has several of. Toronto embraces all of its players because they are much like the city....a united nations.

But do you listen to NBAers referring to them as "foreigners"? It's arrogance sometimes. We've had a player traded away from Toronto and then say They don't know basketball "up there" when referring to this franchise. Or visiting players saying they don't like Canada. What?...Not enough crime? Too much integration? Too clean?

So "us against the world" is a figure of speech referring to us against anyone who thinks this franchise deserves less respect than all the others.
