Default Calderon starting

Eric Smith: Casey: right now...leaning towards Calderon as his starter cuz he likes Bayless' spark off the bench. BUT that COULD change #Raptors #SN590
I really want Bayless to start. Obviously Calderon isn't our point guard of the future and how are we ever going to know if Bayless is a keeper or not. Its not like we wins really matter this year, if Calderon is even better he'll get us two more wins, which is worse cause we want a better pick.

disapointing but not surprising. Bayless was better last season as a starter, we'll see if it stays that way.

I was really hoping they were going to change this up. Mostly because the offense seems to go to shit when Barbosa and Bayless share time. To many scoring minded gaurds on the floor at one time.

Please name a guard Bayless could share the floor with where this would not be an issue.

The problem is we didn't have any other pass first guards besides Jose, so when he sat, it all went down the toilet.

This year we'll probably see a good chunk of Bayless at the 2, when AC plays some at the 1.

now now... let's have a little faith in our new coach. By all accounts he is a defensive minded guy, so maybe he can do something the other guys couldn't.

Jose's defensive deficiencies are going to be hidden. Problem solved.

I'm looking for Anthony Carter to be a starter at some point.

I give Jose a month before he comes up lame grasping his hammy. Carter will then be the primary backup at least.

For all we know, Calderon has magically become an amazing player and will lead the team to major victory.

... or, y'know. He might just suck less. Who knows.

Yeah, because Bayless is such a great defender. Here's a tidbit for you. The team allowed 1 less point per 100 possession when Jose played (versus sat). The team allowed almost 3 more points per 100 possessions when Bayless played.

it was meant as a joke. both of our main pg's are terrible defenders.

Piff...Here comes another year of watching this guy bring the ball up the court and just hand it off to one of the guards. (And don't say that's what a pg is supposed to do lol)

Yeah. He's awesome at handing the ball off though. Must be, to generate a league 5th-best assist rate (43.0%), behind only Steve Nash, Rajon Rondo, Chris Paul and Deron Williams.

Big deal, the way he plays (safe) it means little to me.
