Calderon sends message !

The fire is in Calderon's eyes ! Just loving it everytime the Raptors bring in a young point pg Jose just brings it up another notch.

Jose Calderon has no interest in being the best back-up point guard in the NBA. With Kyle Lowry’s move to Toronto now official, Al Dannity says to expect fireworks from the Spaniard as he looks to make a mark at the Olympics.

What we’ve got here is a man with three things, namely motive, talent, and opportunity. Technically Calderon had all of these before Toronto moved for Lowry but the acquisition of the Rocket adds a different flavour to the mix. Glory is not the only factor driving Calderon now. On a global stage he has the chance to make a statement to the man who wants his job as starting point guard and to the organisation that doesn’t see him in its future. To do so he will have to lead Spain back to the Olympic Final and they must be competitive with the United States in that fight for gold. In a roster loaded with bigs, look for Calderon to be a dime-dropping machine when the eyes of Toronto are watching.

Calderon just doesn't fit the mold, its time for both parties to move on.

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 07-12-2012 03:09 PM

APG - the only thing that raps fans care about when they think of PGs. I'm sorry but playing with the 2nd best national team in the world is a lot different from playing with the raps. Oh, his assist/turnover ratio is awesome, oh, he's such a nice guy. I love Jose, OFF the bench, if you start Bargs and/or DD with a rookie C or Gray you need someone on the team who is an above average defender and rebounder. Lowry gets to the line and can break down opposing D. I love Jose as much as anybody but come on, this franchise has had its most success when playing without a pure PG.

Sorry I can't give it up. Jose Calderon has not given up.... he goes hard all the time and he gives you all he has ....so i am with him all the way. Just can't understand why most on here don't see it.The guy was on his way out last year until the deal fell through...Jose goes out and still plays his heart out for the team and remains positive. Now this year hes being told that the team could amnesty or trade him. Great way to treat your most loyal player of all time. To top it off they bring a 26 year old whom they claim to be the future pg and what has Lowry done ???? Calderon knows that Lowry had proven nothing yet ! To top it off BC does not even expect to make the play offs this year so he was quoted...so what are the raptors waiting for Lowry to turn 28 or 29 before the team is ready ???? Shit by that time all will be crying to get rid of Lowry becaus hes too old.

Time for 123 to figure out that when you're in a hole, stop digging.

For what it's worth, raptor123, I support your quest, even if windmills continue spinning on. ;)

Go, Jose, go! And if Spain does manage to hang with US or, better yet, beat that arrogant bunch - all the better. :)

win win, he does well for spain, his value goes up. He plays average, we get a decent backup pg

What has Jose done? You act like the guy is a future HOF'er who's been a hero for this team. He's been our point guard for 7 lackluster seasons. It's time for a change.

Hoping for Spain to get to the finals....and with alot of luck knock off those arrogant Americans. If Jose has a great tourney BC will be licking his chops....I am sure that the entire membership on this forum will be with me wishing Jose the best....so the Raptors can receive a prize player when they trade him !

Calderon is good.. good shooter and play maker, but we need a change.. that's all.. needed some defense and athleticism from that position a very long time ago

Is Lowry that much better than Calderon?

I mean, he isn't on team USA. Maybe he didn't fi the system there?

Trade him??? Are you crazy? Colangelo and Casey are going to let Jose and Lowry battle it out and compete for the job, at which time Jose is going to teach that fat fuck how to run a pick and roll while utilizing an attrocious assortment of lazy picks set by Ed and Amir and a few highlight reel champion-worthy picks from Aaron Gray..... that's a 7 footer setting those!

Trade Lowry, Jose is the future.... after Espanol gives Americano an ESL lesson!

Come on now SJ. Don't be ridiculous. You think Jose would make the US roster?
