Default Calderon re-sign?

Can Calderon actually resign in the offseason with Raptors since he was traded. I was thinking that because he was traded to Memphis and then Detroit so technically he may be elgibile?

And so it begins. You do recall that he asked to be traded don't you?

To answer your question, yes we can.

He probably wont be back because I don't think BC wants him back even as the 2nd unit guy... we've tried that already.

He'll end up somewhere, i doubt he resigns with Detroit. He prob wants to go to a nice city with his family.

I don't see him re-signing with Toronto. Instead, I think teams like Utah, Dallas, Sacramento, and even Memphis being more likely landing spots.

Sacramento? Yeah right

I could see LAL, Miami, Boston, Dallas, Utah taking a look at him. I think he'd be great in SA spelling Parker some minutes. It all depends if he wants to be a starter or contend for a championship.

It could really go anywhere, I don't think re-signing is good for either parties though.

if he wants a championship, the Raptors are the place. Atlantic division champions anyone?

Hey, Calderon is like an ex-girlfriend. Yeah you loved her, and you had some GREAT times. But it's over. Move on. Don't even think about getting back together, it's only going to cause more pain.

No shit they don't realy have much at the PG position. Chalmers is ok, but Calderon is better than he is. I think he'd be a perfect fit in Miami and reunited with Bosh.

FYI, the rule restricts players from being bought out and re-signed by the trading team in the same year. There is no restriction on re-signing a player in the offseason, except in the case of use of the amnesty clause.

But, yeah, I very seriously doubt the Raps re-sign him.

Depends on what Sacramento does with their backcourt this off-season. Also depends if the sale goes through. Really, who knows?

I also don't see Miami being interested. They don't need a true PG since James and Wade dominate the ball, and one of them is always on the court. What they want from their "PG" is a guy who can shoot, defend, and occasionally distribute - kind of like what B.J. Armstrong and John Paxson did for the Bulls.

If LA deals Nash, then I don't see them being a landing spot for Calderon.

I definitely could see the Celtics being interested.

I think Jose will command at least full MLE. We won't have that kind of money. Even if we amnesty Kleiza
