As far as Calderon is concerned no matter how well he plays he knows Lowry will get his minutes and lots of minutes...the organization is committed to Lowry with the 1st pick and all.

Calderon knows hes done after this year with the Raptors. The entire NBA is aware of it. So don't get to excited that he finishes the year with us only to see him go to where he wants to finish his NBA career.

Since you can't provide a source, then your statement is just your opinion, irrationally slanted as usual.

FYI, Lowry looked much better than Calderon who looked like George Costanza and played like it.

Calderon does know he's done after this year, if not sooner, and has decided just to cash his paycheck until someone else wants to buy that bridge.

I don't blame him. They've talked about him as a trade chip endlessly. They've never provided a decent two way player to play beside. They've relied heavily on him to get Ed, Amir, and other young players going offensively while their respective offensive skills could at best be described as rudimentary. Jose plays a team game offensively and while he struggles at the defensive end, they seem to make it work on an international level. He's never been the problem but often has been cast as it. I'd be over it too, and he'll soon understand he can go where he wants to, and despite not making as much he will still contribute to a winning environment while we'll still be mired in a losing one.

That shit's on Colangelo. Whatever the reason, if Calderon is just cashing his paycheck, has Bargnani adopted a " monkey see, monkey do " attitude?

And how would that affect Ross and Davis and Valanciunas et al? Should we be surprised at "lack of focus"?

You might have missed my point. Bringing anybody else into the discussion is irrelevant.

Billups told him that come next June he can go to a winning team... LOL
the losing culture in T.O is so crappy, we're truly considered a piece of shit team with no hope. its so sad how bad we are and that we've dropped to the level that is the 90's clippers.

I do think it's Colangelo's issue for not moving him or amnestying him last summer. It would have been good for him and for the team.

That's the real shame. Our reputation is so poor right now thanks to BC's reign of terror it will be hard to recover without a real change in fortune.

Completely agree. They've allowed this to fester.

This reputation precedes Colangelo, don't kid yourself. You can't ignore the truth... or can you!

Rumours have surfaced over the past few days that the Raptors have inquired about the availability of Los Angeles Lakers centre Pau Gasol and the names Toronto might have to give up could include Andrea Bargnani and Jose Calderon, but Sam Mitchell thinks that would be a dicey move.

The former Raptors coach, who was a guest on Tim and Sid on Sportsnet 590 The Fan Friday, said, "If I'm the Lakers, I do that deal in a heartbeat."

Mitchell, who coached both Calderon and Bargnani with the Raptors, said that the pieces would fit better in Los Angeles than Gasol might in Toronto.
"Jose Calderon who can run that pick-and-roll offence that Steve Nash who is 38, 39 years old is going to be asked to do. So your point guard position is now solidified," he explained.

"Also, Andrea, whether he is making shots or not, he's known as a three-point shooter. He's seven-foot guy that can stretch the court, create space and allow the pick and roll to develop."

While the deal would solve problems for the Lakers, Mitchell wondered how they would fit in Toronto.

"The question on the Raptors side is: What do you do with Pau Gasol?" Mitchell asked.

"Everyone talks about how good Pau Gasol is -- and he is -- but Pau Gasol hasn't lived up to a $19-million contract the last two years," Mitchell said, although he pointed out that a change of scenery might help revive Gasol.

Mitchell was asked whether Calderon, who will play his 500th game as a Raptor Friday night, is underappreciated in Toronto.
"Maybe I'm biased when it comes to Jose but I would not have won coach of the year without Jose Calderon."

BC time to let them go. You Fucked us up by getting Lowry for a first round pick. Show some heart and let Calderon go to a contender. Bargs and Caldy big upgrade for the Lakers.....get Gasol......and we continue to shit the bed but who cares Caldy and Bargs get out of this mess we have in Toronto....
